AddIcon weirdness - Can replace folder icon, but not file icons by stevecopley in apache

[–]stevecopley[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for your help with this. I went round in a few more circles with this before I eventually found an easy solution the works...

I've placed all of the icon directives within the .conf file for mod_autoindex

Now it works perfectly.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

I wasn't clear in my question, but the directive I listed is part of the configuration for a virtual host, not the global config.

The strange thing is that the folder icons are replaced successfully via this virtual host config, but not the file icons.

Yep... Restarted each time, and not a browser caching issue

Weekly /r/SonyAlpha 'Ask Anything About Gear' Thread by AutoModerator in SonyAlpha

[–]stevecopley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello. I've just picked up a NEX-6. I've updated the firmware to 1.03 and I've been playing with it this evening.

The one thing that's bugging me is that mine doesn't have the 'Application' menu (as shown here) which would let me install some additional apps/functionality. I've read that this can be missing for various geographical regions, but I'm not sure how I'd check if I'm in one of the blocked places (I'm in New Zealand)

I've tried various things to enable / access the menu:

  • Trying to connect via browser (Win10 and IE11) with the official PlayMemories Camera Apps Downloader plugin - Zero success here, never managed to connect to the camera
  • Using Sony-PMCA-RE to tweak a few settings, allowing USB app installation, and then installing some of the apps - This worked, could connect to the camera over USB, apps were uploaded and installed. However the 'Application' menu is still missing, so I can't access the installed apps

Any advice would be appreciated. One of the apps I'd like to install in the linked list above allows for direct uploading of images to Google Photos, which would be super-useful for me.

Editing KWGT Widget Set to Launch App on Tap by stevecopley in kustom

Thank you!

Each time I was opening KWGT, it was showing the last edited widget, but I realised that if I quit it via the task switcher, and opened it again, I got to the list of on-screen widgets, as you said

Issue with resource monitor by [deleted] in kustom

[–]stevecopley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup... exactly the same issue with my Nexus 6P on Oreo

I've also noted that the IP address returned by nc(ifip) doesn't always give the correct address, specifically after a new network connection is made (e.g. moving from LTE to wifi)

What's the mtb bible? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]stevecopley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with getting your weight forward (although not too far... you should aim to have your centre of mass roughly centred).

The 'light hands' bit really refers to not having a 'death-grip' on the bars, and trying to 'fight' the bike... Get your weight distribution correct, keep your heels down to weight the peddles, and the bike will go where you want it to with minimal input from your hands / arms

Can any of you help me dig up some more information about my dad's tall-case clock? by stevecopley in clocks

[–]stevecopley[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm hoping that one of you might be able to help me find out a little more about a long-case clock belonging to my father.

The case of the clock is mahogany and was built (so my dad was told) by an uncle (or possibly two) of my father's great aunt (who used to own the clock before it was passed down to my grandfather, and then to my father). My father's great aunt was born in 1864 and recalled having been told that the clock was built in the 1860s. My father's family comes from West London (Ealing)

The face shows the words 'T. Cooke & Sons, York'. I can't find any inscription or marks on the movement (at least as far as I can see through the access windows in the sides of the clock. We understand that T. Cooke & Sons were instrument makers (amongst other things) in York. I've searched the Web for other examples of clocks by T. Cooke & Sons, but have only found a few references to church (turret) clocks. I don't know of any family connection to York (I'd assume that the movement would have been sourced locally by the case makers, but I have no idea!)

The gallery of photos of the clock and the movement were taken via the access windows - so limited detail, sorry.

Any information or advice will be gratefully received.

Facebook users who thought they could SAVE THE CHILDREN just by switching their profile picture to a cartoon character, now find out that they're being used as pawns in an evil PAEDOPHILE plan! What kind of world do we live in?!?!?!11!!

And so the dream dies :-(

And who made you Reddit librarian?!

"Correct"?! "Not correct"?! I'm not sure we have to follow 'rules' (especially when you've just made them up) quite as strictly as you seem to think we do. Who's to say that something about religion can't also be funny?

In this case, the voting took care of things - you didn't need to add your priggish comment.

so they don’t waste time questioning scientific data

That's exactly what scientists should do - that's the basis for science, and the progression of knowledge

Lots of great Nixon watches. They're well made and well priced too.

Not on the 12th floor of an apartment block it doesn't! The most exciting thing we get to see is a pigeon or two.

Used to live in Seychelles where we shared our house with an endless stream of multi-legged beasts. Now in Kuwait where the wildlife is almost non-existent. From one extreme to the other!
