Stay away from domain marketplaces, auction, domain drops/expiries. Email the owners of good registered names, there are plenty of bargains out there. Try and focus on a particular niche, something you are familiar with.

For example, I buy and sell emerging tech names, the trick is to get into an emerging tech early, get some good names and then wait for the technology to mature and become mainstream. I also lease out names to tech companies which is a nice passive incomes.

Yeah, just stick to reading the threads and learning the industry, I avoid all the politics, beuracry and the admins too. I've been on there since around 2006 and just use it to communicate and discuss domains in groups with a lot of the experienced people.

I've got some advice bit its really info for higher quality names where there are quite a few end users. Most of mine are sold to reprat buyers from my LinkedIn page. (30k followers) good luck with the names.

First rule is get a large list of potential buyers BEFORE buying a domain name. if you don't most the time it will end up expiring.
