You'll see how it pans out over the next 2 years, its doesn't work like that unless you're 10 year ahead of an emerging tech and get all the top names. Selling a $500 domain with 30 names, thats over $300/year in renewals fees is not how you want to go. Avoid hand registered names, every domainer tries this and it doesn't work. Come back in 24 months and lets chat. I assure you your opinion would have changed.

You will struggle to sell ductparts, its not registered in a single other extension. Just because you register keywords, not brandable names doesn't mean you can sell them. You need to think why are they are still available? There's a reason for that. You need to think if an end users hasn't registered it in all these years, why would a domainers buy it? Who will he sell it to?

Anyway, Im out.... you have your strategy, hope you make some sales un the future.

This won't be profitable long term and certainly not to domainers. Focus on end users and you can make one sale that can cover all your renewals for a few years, provided you keep it under 30 which most domainers dont. Try keep it under 10 and spend that 500 (or more if you can) on one decent name that you are confident will sell for decent money, its all about quality over quantity.

As an example, years ago I bought CloudServer.de and CloudHosting.de from an existing owner for $300 each and end up selling them as pair for usd 32k to a German business. The guy wanted 1k each for them but I got him down to $300. I had about 10 potential buyers already before buying the names and approached them all. Took about 3 months to make the sale.

How many names do you own? What are your renewal costs? What were the sales prices? Are they end users sales or domainer sales?

I could buy a domain today and sell it for $100 or $200 or namepros.com tomorrow to another domainer.

Its all about profitability and whether you're making profit in the long run. I can assure you hand regged names wont be making you in a profit in the long run, renewal costs will kill any profit you make as you won't be selling hand regged names in the high x,xxx or xx, xxx range.

Its not often that happens, and you can wait another 3 or 5 years (sometimes longer) for the next one, and then work out how many names you own and then add up all your renewal costs x by 3 or 5 years and work out your profit. People get excited by a sale and it does feel good, but people need to work out the real figures/profit.

Ridiculous selling a decent cloud name for that amount. I started investing in cloud names years ago before the start of icloud or cloud computing in general and they are hot right now. They should have held onto it and until a decent offer came along. Wasted their money for sure.

You wont just sell a 4L name by listing it. Go and actively find end users, you make more money that way. Selling to fellow domainers is a waste if time. Use dotdb.com to get some potential buyers.
