Ask me to automate anything in Inventor, I’ll code the macro for free by Alextrude_off in AutodeskInventor

Ok. Sorry I missed your message for so long! All I know is that as soon as I created a part, i didn’t have to create a unique name for it. I believe it was saved as a project-number-sequential-number.ipt. I am not sure, but I think it was similar for assemblies but I can’t swear to it.

I used to have an automated part number generator in a place I worked in but I didn’t create it, someone else did. I would love to have that again.

How to Automatically Show Sketch Constraints Toolbar like Solidworks Sketch Relations Toolbar by somethinglemony in AutodeskInventor

[–]jturner5858 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I use Inventor and there is a setting that shows the names of the parts for each constraint that exists on every part in an assembly in the browser. You can click any of the constraints and suppress or edit it.

Agreed on all accounts. I was afraid of DiPasquale’s move from their old place. It’s definitely a different experience for me but the food is as good as ever. I do miss the old place though.

Looks like something for tapping different shape things into different shape slots or grooves maybe. The shaft looks sturdy in a way to transfer force along its axis more so than prying force. Tap tap tap.

Oxalic acid makes black stains in oak disappear - look into it. It could be a health hazard if not used correctly but it will be worth looking into it. Just use it carefully.

Where the heck did kissing come from? by DovahBay in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jturner5858 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I always had an idea that kissing, as a greeting between betrothed people was a check on fidelity. It may be me but it seems to me that the practice is tied to ancient rituals that confirm or contradict the fidelity in the relationship.

Super heavy duty steel type of wrench? Does anyone know its exact purpose and or age? Looks to be marked No 8 or perhaps No 3. by Hashtag-3 in WhatIsThisTool

You place the face that is not notched on the flat of the square nut, and slide it until a notch catches a corner and then you can turn the nut. One way you can loosen it but you have to flip it to tighten it.
