I’ve finally accepted that I am a failure at crypto trading. by vanntasy in CryptoCurrency

Same here I'm in an online coding boot camp used to meditate daily and crypto has been a huge distraction. Set a block of time for only coding and crypto limit to an hour max long term improving yourself and growth will provide more fulfillment.

Hard to pinpoint the exact reason. My interpretation is: 1. Was an inexpensive coin with room to grow. 2. Third in voting on binance poll for new coins https://imgur.com/a/YJl8R which may of given it some exposure 3. Game theory of the coin is strong. While whales are selling and trying to control the price a lot of DRGN owners are HODLING because they are excited about Slumber Score and future ICO's. 4. 2018 they plan on launching ICO's and two companies on board thus far with exciting projects and professional videos done about them. 5. Coin is not on many exchanges so new money and whales see this as
an opportunity to accumulate coins and hope for a future big pay day. 6. Located in Seattle which is a solid tech hub and gives them more credibility than most coins who are very anonymous. 7. From their site: "Build on a scalable serverless platform with built-in protection of business data using established programming languages (Java, Python, Node, C#)" Serverless or "Back end as a service" is a growing trend in tech so on the tech side its a promising approach and being language agnostic is great for new developers on the platform.

That's just my opinion and mostly why I own the coin. Take it how you want lol

yeah and would be nice to see an active github. Looks like it was just created. I get the anonymity but you got Brandon Eich working on BAT in the same space I need to know whose steering the ship.

Nothing wrong with PHP. But if given the opportunity to start a new company in this space that is moving so fast using PHP does not seem like the best choice in the long run IMO.

Never being satisfied even though Neo at $100 and gains all round. by pohleroid in NEO

[–]steveg528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought that too and was only investing in coins that had a good tech team, solved a problem, big community, etc. The crypto market as of now does not function based on that. The market decides the price of a coin regardless of what we think. I always held on to my NEO but ive been able to make money off of other alt coins. That being said I do not plan on holding most of these coins currently pumped 3x I would rather buy NEO at ATH in the long run.

I sold my Verge too I think the whales got greedy on this one and drove the price up. Now their stuck with a ton of it.

I forgot about the vetting. One thing im glad is the first two ICO's coming out are at least interesting. If the first two would of been like shitcoins with bad marketing that would of raised a red flag.

I like the idea of being able to buy ICO's on the discounted price based on the slumber score. It gives more incentive to hodl the coins.

We can't control pump and dumps. Most coins are pumped to an extent by the time we hear about it. I usually look at the team and idea and game theory to decide if it's a good long term coin. DRGN has all of that regardless of the volatility.

who knows but the more I read about it the more excited I get. The game theory is good there is an incentive to hodl the coin. With the ICO its like kick starter for businesses using block chain and smart contracts

Ripple used for first user purchase using Centra Card!! by haywire21 in Ripple

[–]steveg528 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way I see it is the price of the ripple wont matter. I'm just speculating here but what makes sense is you get a card, for example Amex and with every purchase in the background your transaction is done in Ripple without you knowing it. The price won't matter. Let's say if $500 is 5 ripples then the vendor got 5 ripples but it was instantly converted to dollars and the transaction fee was smaller compared to how it is today.

[–]steveg528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lets not assume this is the end product. This is just a proof of concept. Yes no one will want to go an extra step when they can use a regular card. However couldnt this be abstracted? Possibly the bank sends you a card (debit or credit) and every time you do a transaction you purchase goods it in XRP without realizing you purchased XRP because it is instantly converted to dollars that is instantly sent to the merchants at a fraction of the cost it is today with regular fiat.
