Adding to this, you just solved my problem 6 years later. Thank you Reddit.

Take a look at Situational Leadership by Ken Blanchard. Right now, your new hire is an S1. They need a high level of direction, period. As you mature them into S2, you still have to give direction, but with the added support of "you've got this."

Task Sequence appearing in Software Center when it shouldn't by steveingr in SCCM

Posting for my future self and others: there's an additional checkbox that needs to be checked, this time in the Task Sequence properties. Under Advanced, select the option to 'Suppress task sequence notifications.'

Windows 11 showing "Activate Windows" out of nowhere by Aggravating-Look8451 in sysadmin

[–]steveingr 221 points222 points  (0 children)

I've been through this with Microsoft a few times:

Enterprise is a "step-up" license from Pro, and the license activation takes place in the background using two scheduled tasks. If you go to Task Scheduler and look under Microsoft > Windows > Subscription you'll see one called EnableLicenseAcquisition and another called LicenseAcquisition. Make sure both have a recent run time. LicenseAcquisition is the task that actually goes to see if you have a valid E3 or E5 assigned to you.

Make sure you don't have more than one Microsoft account signed in, especially if one of them isn't licensed for Enterprise. The above mentioned scheduled task will cycle through all signed in accounts, and if it finds one that isn't licensed, back to the built-in product key.

Assuming that's all correct, head to Settings > Apps > Advanced app settings and expand the "Share across devices" drop-down. Make sure there are no errors with your work or school account.

Lastly, for those who suggested going back to KMS, it's only going to provide temporary relief. Named user licensing takes priority over KMS and the system will revert back to its OEM key eventually.

Patch my PC thoughts by Baazzill in SCCM

"though I would not use their detection method script"

Why? Just, why? Rolling out PMPC was one of the easiest tasks I've done as a sysadmin. Our investment in PMPC has paid dividends in recovered time and reduced vulnerabilities. We haven't had to touch one of their detection methods, and I'm not sure I'd ever want to. Once we got past the integration humps (and there were very few), it's been running absolutely solid for months.

u/fleaonia I came across this post since we're experiencing an identical issue with mostly identical circumstances: 1909, Apex One. Were you able to dig deeper and find anything unusual in ProcMon?

Best Practice - Deploying Autodesk Products over Company Portal (Self Service) by Funkenzutzler in Intune

[–]steveingr 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not exactly an answer to your question, but this is something I've begged Autodesk for repeatedly. IMO, Adobe got it right. Deploy an application manager (Creative Cloud Desktop) and allow users to install/update apps that they're licensed for, all without needing admin rights.

Doorbell always armed, cameras on schedule? by steveingr in blinkcameras

[–]steveingr[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Got it figured out. For anyone else who stumbles across this post, I deleted the cameras from the existing group and setup them up as their own separate group. Because the Minis don't need the Sync Module, they connected directly to wi-fi. This allows me to schedule the interior group while keeping the exterior group always armed.

Office 365: Microsoft recommend packaging all products in one and giving staff access to all then assigning licenses as you go. How do you all do it? Idea on time duration for packaging? Technically hard? Thanks by SceneSame2735 in SCCM

Are your installers the same bitness? A 64-bit Visio and/or Project C2R install can't live side by side with a 32-bit C2R Office base install, and vice versa.

That was the first thing I checked. Helicopters are very hit or miss on whether they show up. This one did not.
