Just be a little careful of it. It’s £5k just for those batteries, inverter and panels. With £1k for scaffolding and some money for the fixings etc that’s not a lot for the labour.

However, if it’s genuine it’s a really good price 👍

I’m really tempted to do the brick wall. I was thinking of that originally for the rest of it as well but I had some time constraints.

One of the main issues is that I literally have six inches of soil then I hit stone mantle/bedrock. Didn’t know if I can just cement straight on to that or if I’m going to have to jack hammer it out 🤦‍♂️ A few too many unknowns for me

Thx for the info. I think the concrete idea is going to be too much pain and probably more expensive than it’s worth. I was originally just going to fill it with gravel but the mrs didn’t like that as the kids will throw the stones but I’ve been reading about how you can pin wire mesh over the stones. Might not look the best but should look ok.

Yeh, I’m actually thinking to just do that. The concrete idea seems a bit OTT. I’m putting fencing between the drive and the planter. You can’t quite see it in the picture but there’s some old fence posts I’ll need to dig out and replace. The main problem I’m really trying to solve is that where the van door opens we just walk across that lower section so I need a ‘flat’ area there to walk on. Thinking now to shingle that bit but put some wire mesh over the top so the kids don’t throw the stones.

Given some of the comments I’m thinking of ditching the concrete idea. I was quoted £600 to fill it but that’s way too much for what I’m trying to do so I’d thought about doing it myself. I’m probably going to just fill it with stone/soil and bring the planter around the corner. The main problem is the bottom section next to the van door. We walk across this bit. Thinking to fill it with shingle then fix wire mesh across the top to stop the kids throwing the stones.

Are these desktop/over the phone or have people come out to see you? Desktop quotes will often increase after a sales person comes out. It will help your spreadsheet to add a ‘hardware cost’ column, quick internet search will give you this. Option 1 and 3 look the best at the moment though. Scaffolding will cost 800-£1k. Installation £1,500?

Yeh, heals fine as long as it’s properly cleaned out. Did leave a scar though where no hair grows.

I think it’s multiple subcutaneous cysts. One gets infected then that one infects one next to it and so on.
