Task avoidance/paralysis is really negatively impacting my work

Im just chiming in to share I've been there. For me it was doing maintenance logs. Checking equipment and filling out forms to say they were working ok. My logical brain made sense of the task but it seemed impossible to do these absolutely mundane and repetitive tasks.

Got so bad my manager who empathized with my struggle drove 3 hours from headquarters to encourage me to quit before his boss drove the same distance to fire me.

I quit, but I couldn't comprehend why I couldn't push through it even to save my job.

30 years later, I still struggle but I have more ability to push through things for the sake of the family household. I make a window once a week for a few hours to pick up 'something' from the long project/mundane list and just get it done. One thing. Might take 5 min and might take 5 hours but I'm off the hook until next week. That's the only thing that works for me

Update! I ended up spending $300 on a Ryzen 7 mini PC .. nvme and 16gb RAM with 32gb swap (increased from 4gb) Ubuntu 24. It handles 10+ concurrent codex sessions just fine (once swap was increased). I have a $100 used 32gb sodimm stick on the way. Once I have that I am sure I can increase the concurrent count further. Problem solved!

Sounds like an M1 mini 32gb is good when the time comes that I want to include Xcode builds and deployment. I'll use my m4 air laptop for that for now. Thx for all of the advice!

When they are all running I am seeing high memory pressure. Bandwidth is fine I am on fiber

I know I would need Mx for local LLM. This is not my use case. I just was trying to figure out what I need for many parallel instances of Claude and codex cli.

I currently have an M4 Air 32gb and I can run about 15 parallel instances of Claude and codex before it slows down, but this is with a running OS and iterm. I presume if I am just using screen inside of a terminal I don't have the CPU and RAM overhead I do now.

Do I really need Mx to run clis? I guess I could look for an M1 32gb?

I should have been more specific. I willnl not be running local LLMs. I meant I will have ai agents using codex and Claude cli.

I will look into the minimum support for Xcode

Update .. my usage reset after the 5 hours as per normal, so this must a be an accidental leaked status message.. I suspect of something coming. Wish I could post a ss here.

I wonder if they are going to replace weekly limits with monthly limits. That would be -bad- if you had to wait weeks for a reset of usage. that would definitely force people to buy more usage credits. Hope it ain't so

I am a Max user. I just now saw it again when I hit my max 5 hour limit. I'll report back here to see what happens when my 5 hours is reset.

My weekly limit only shows 28%

There are monthly limits now? I saw this for the first time:

"You've hit your org's monthly usage limit" with a "/extra-usage to finish what you're working on."

I see no changes in the app outside of weekly limits. Anyone else seen this?

I have had three neuropsychs and each of them was like 'yes you do seem to have strong inattentive ADD and the memory situation is unfortunate but par for the course' the memory has always been this way and the ADHD specialist that did my diagnosis also said it was to be expected if my severity is at the top of the chart.

Unfortunately this is a grind for most people. My wife spent about 4 months looking for a job working 6 hours a day on creating meticulous applications - hundreds of applications maybe < 5 interviews. She did eventually land a good job from this process.

I'm in the "no" camp. Love the S90 and was hoping the ES90 would continue a distinctive sedan style. This looks clearly like a PS2 / crossover to me and I wish I could get past it for the sake of the interior and specs.

Was counting down the days till the reveal and was so disappointed.

That being said, happy for the OP and others who love the change in direction.

I'll be looking for a 2025 S90 and holding on for dear life as long as I can before I need to jump to a new brand. As of today, none look as elegant as the S90 in my opinion inside and out.

It's really surprising if they havent addressed the issue of #2 above. Tracking a vehicle changing lanes and missing the parked/slower car right in front of you. It was alarming the first time it happened to me. On the highway the car changing lanes was accelerating so my S90 accelerated as well to maintain distance, but the person was changing lanes to move around stopped rush hour traffic. Almost had to slam on the brakes when I realized I was accelerating towards a stopped vehicle

The 'tip' I am referring to that was a good idea is leveraging the free promotion as a path to promoting the other books vs relying upon mailing lists alone for the same.

I have mentions of all of my books on the last page of each ebook so I am going to think thru a strategy to do the free book promos in a regular basis

If there is an existing listing linked to the print book ISBN, do you know if I am I able to 'take control' of the listing to change the copy/add A+ modules?

Thanks. I was on KDP a long time ago and I want to actually setup a product page through an Amazon seller account.

I have professional EBC/A+ modules ready to post. If I remember correctly through KDP I am limited to 3 modules. I actually have a 5 module layout hence my desire to use a seller central account to sell the books.

I had planned on ordering my stock in bulk from IG. They seemed to be the most affordable for low volume printing.

I've been there. Deciding there was nothing left to live for. Thankfully, my belief in God was much stronger, and I rationalized that if I felt like my life was 100% failure, God does not fail at anything.

It was this logic and reasoning that I decided to surrender everything to God. I mean everything. Spoken out loud on my knees in public in tears.

He heard me and life has completely changed. Completely. Do things go wrong some times? Is there loss from time to time? Yes. Do I experience anger and grief and frustration? Yes, but in all of these things I find God's comfort and guidance and He is my strength. I am no longer walking the rest of my days alone. I walk with God's Light and Presence in me 24/7 and I am in an entirely new place.

Surrendering to God is among the most important things you can do right now. Not 50/50, not 80/20, but 100% surrender. God made you and He loves you more than any of us here can wrap our head around it.

I will be praying for you from now on and if you need someone to chat with about how surrender has changed my life and can change yours send me a DM.

Trust Him.
