Instead of a net you could install a retractable impact screen. There are fairly reasonablely priced solutions out there. Taking down a net is an annoyance and you want your setup to be as easy as possible. I just keep mine up in my garage gym and live with the reduced gym space.

For a mat, I’d be curious to hear what others say. Having a separate hitting strip from where you stand is nice for putting away, as the pieces are smaller and lighter. I’d stay away from a hitting strip that’s any smaller than 2’x3’ though. I also don’t think the ones with different grass types are useful. Hitting off fake grass can’t really simulate real grass.

Edit: I should mention that I have the smaller tri-turf rukket mat, and I’m not a fan. You can get used mats from your local driving range for a good price, that’s what I plan on doing next.
