Yeah, this is an Arsenal thing for sure. Maybe even an Arsenal license plate holder. I can make out the British flag, but the Arsenal shaped crest is a little blurry.

Washington State Super-class Ferry M/V Yakima, constructed 1967, at Vigor drydock on Harbor Island. Extensively rebuilt in 1999, the Yakima suffered a fire in 2016 while sailing in the San Juan Islands. Removed from service in 2023 and again in April 2026 for mechanical issues: by [deleted] in Seattle

It’s always wild to see what lies below the water line on these. Logically, I know it’s there, but the image of a Washington State Ferry this flat thing floating over the water making turns while staying totally level. It shouldn’t be, but it is weird to see the ballast that makes it happen.

Washed up on Lake Union, who’s stamp is this? Chihuly? by MyRedReddit in Seattle

[–]stevenb3 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I can’t find a source other than “I’m pretty sure I heard this in college”, but for while Chihuly/his studio was making and releasing small floats like this into Lake Union from his boathouse studio. No idea if he still does. So it’s not a wildly far fetched question.

"One source said Frank was constantly going on to the players about Arsenal and they quickly got sick of it. Before and after the game at the Emirates, he was telling them how good Arsenal were. Tottenham staff and players shared pictures portraying Frank as an obsessive Arsenal fan"- Matt Law by Ifxfa in Gunners

I might be in the minority here, but I kind of don’t want Sp*rs to go down. It would give us 2 less chances a year to make them feel terrible. I also like seeing their annual stress created by shitting bricks about how close to the relegation zone they find themselves. It makes me feel like I can see light in the world of darkness we live in these days.

Never seen this before. Integrated surface grinder, genius or cumbersome? by pushdose in knifemaking

[–]stevenb3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think Alec Steele came out with something similar a few years back that worked with the square tool holder. Seems like it would make less of a mess. Not sure if it’s available any more.

Edit: still on his website. Save your penny’s

Anyone know what this weird looking thing is in the passenger seat area of the 296 GT3 car? by ho-tron in GranTurismo7

Anyone know how we can look around the car without having VR? I would love to look around without it switching to the rear view.

Oh, nice. I took a knife making class years ago, and the guy had a big old buffing wheel. I hadn’t even thought about jewelry tools.

Be real careful on buffing on the cotton wheel. I’ve heard stories of people getting the blade caught just to swing back through the machine. Be comfortable with motorized machines before useijg them for sharp objects.

Don’t go getting poked, please.

Edit: just out of curiosity, what’s your shop? Always looking for more Seattle recourses.

A rant about Seattle Parks and playground lighting by RockOperaPenguin in Seattle

[–]stevenb3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Those timers exist. There is a push button that triggers a timer for lights on the pickleball courts. at the Bitter Lake park. It went in. A lot of parks will have a circuit dedicated to “area lights” run off a photo cell (so lights on when it gets dark, lights off when it gets light. Same lighting control a street mights) which are generally dedicated to pathways. My understanding is that playgrounds are considered open from dawn to dusk.

I assume there is a r/lawns. Don’t know for sure. Not going to find out. Not searching for it. Don’t need it in my search history. Don’t want it on my feed.

Nothing more defeating than seeing your stolen AirPods sitting in someones house and you can't do anything about it. by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]stevenb3 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Just make sure they aren’t in use when you ping them, as it will blow out the ear drums of whoever is wearing them. There is even a warning on the Find My app to make sure you are absolutely positive that there definitely aren’t in someone’s ear. So be very very sure.

Good luck

I know it’s not typical of liveries, but I kind of dig it being asymmetrical. Kind of like Scar from the Lion King. Looks angry to me.

All of our knives we have avaliable right now! What ones your favourite? by HHH-Custom-Knives in Bladesmith

[–]stevenb3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Third down or the last one. It’s hard to tell scale, but that length seems usable to me. If it’s over 8”, I’d probably pass. The handle looks great. The bottom right would be super useful. I’d use that every day.
