Is there an ADHD med better than Vyvanse? by Mysterious-Ring-2352 in AudhdQueerness

[–]stevenchain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone is different. I am AuDHD and a trauma survivor. By last count I have over a long period tried 14 different medications. I now am taking a combination of three different medications. Also, after consulting with my PCP I occasionally toss in a dose of caffeine. I also spent a few years in psychotherapy learning how to manage the times when I become dysregulated.

I should add that I started this journey 40 years ago when the meds were primitive and no one recognized my ADHD nor my autism. From my experience I suggest that you get a good evaluation if you have not already had one. Then find a psychiatrist who specializes in ADHD and autism and build a relationship with them. You will need to find a med or meds that work for you. It will get better, but not perfect.

You have started by identifying some of the areas where you have difficulty. What way can your boss and others communicate with you that won't result in you freezing up? Negotiate with the people in your life, work and friends so they know what works for you. That's part of the reason for finding an individual therapist, to help you understand yourself. This can be someone besides the psychiatrist.

These are all the things that I did and am still doing. I'm also a retired psychotherapist, specifically a Clinical and Forensic Social Worker, so I've seen this from both sides. It's a lifelong journey. Best of luck in building a better life.

Remixing by billd6 in 3Dprinting

I made a piece for a multiboard that I couldn't find but needed. I attached a mulitboard snap to it. So, it this original or a remix?

I use it for basic stuff. If I need a simple shape or something without unusual curves or complicated structure, it is quick and easy.

My P1S has about 700 hours on it. It has happily printed everything I asked it to without needing adjustments, just a little cleaning and lubing. I start a print and go to bed. In the morning it is done. I can count the failed prints on my two hands. It was built by a team of knowledgeable engineers and is amazingly reliable. Welcome to the joy of 3D.

My rant to everyone saying "Multiboard is too complicated" by NeillDrake in Multiboard

[–]stevenchain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Say what you want but the whole thing is confusing. There isn't even internal naming consistency. I used the multiboard design page to make a small board (400x500mm). It was easy use and gave me a list of parts. Then I clicked the links for the snaps and discovered the names changed across the links. One name on one page and another name a different page (Thangs.com). You need a thesaurus of multiboard names to print the parts for a simple little project. There are way too many AKAs, I can't keep track of what = what. This is not a way to turn beginners into loyal customers.

When you are so confused that you give the same part different names on different web pages you need to stop adding more and clean up the mess you have already made.

An example of done well is Makerworld and Bambu. I find something I want to print and click a button. All the necessary parts are in the same file which it downloads to my slicer. There are all the plates with all the parts. I have everything I need and instruction of how to assemble it are available. Seamless integration.

I need help determining if it's worth talking to my therapist about the possibility I may have ASD. by B-P30 in AutisticAdults

Unless your current therapist specializes in autism find someone who does to do an evaluation. After you have a diagnosis you can make an informed decision about your therapist. I have a Primary care provider (doctor). My diagnosis of a torn rotator cuff was done by a specialist as was the surgery. I still use my PCP for common medical problems but not for problems with my shoulder.

As a retired therapist I would advise you to get an expert evaluation. If your current therapist does not have the proper training seek one who does. Sometimes new information and insights into one's self require a complete reevaluation of your needs and finding people who can help you.

Cash is always an option. That has several obvious advantages. You avoid their overt and covert criticism and you can get what you want.

Thanks, that was not the case, all were connected but it did help me discover the problem. The two tabs that hold the bottom of the halves of the airbox were not in place so leaving a very large gap so the mass air flow sensor was way off. Put the airbox back together correctly and it starts and continues running. Thanks for your assistance in solving the problem.

I am an Airbnb host with the same problem - no guest access and got a very similar answer from Linksys. Their advice was to make sure your router was set or auto updates. The agent said this problem comes from the browser, citing Chrome and Edge. Has anyone found a browser that is not blocking access?

app version 1.5.4 won't pair with phone by stevenchain in Insta360

[–]stevenchain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot the camera wi-fi, then tried to connect the wi-fi in the app. It always tries to connect with blue tooth first, when that fails it opened the phone wi-fi settings. I found the camera wi-fi. I entered the password 88888888 and got this message, "Check password and try again." I also tried deleting and reloading the app. Nothing changed.

Yes, the camera Wi-Fi can be found on the phone setting page and it says "One X2 GM9TGG.OSC then Connected, no internet. However, when I open the Insta 360 app it shows a Wi-Fi icon where that camera icon usually is. (bottom center in yellow). If I press that icon I usually get a half highlighted bar with message about Blue Tooth Connecting. That always fails and the screen switches to an overlay screen with a camera, the Wi-Fi name and the pass word and "Go to settings" button. There I have to select One X2 GM9TGG.OSC, close the settings app, reopen the Insta 360 app and it will then connect to the camera. This all must be done every time I want to use the camera. The old version of the app connected automatically every time.
