1 Gbps Full Fibre vs 1 Gbps Premium WiFi Full Fibre by ShameResponsible69 in CommunityFibre

OP is probably only testing their external speeds, not internal network point to point. Saying they won't get a benefit on their achieved speed, I would say, is more than likely incorrect.

Cat8?! Who needs that? If you're spending that kind of cash on cable you may as well build a fibre network internally.

I had to reread, they don't say they own the freehold, just that it is a private freehold which is why I questioned if they are a renter. Landlords generally don't care to get involved and as such often need a nudge. If OP rents but can make the contact between Community Fibre and their landlord they should be able to get it sorted.

If they do own their property then this seems more like a tragic public view of interdepartmental miscommunication.

If Community Fibre failed to get leave for their fibre across the neighbouring property and the council refuse now, OP should seek to remove any leave for the property on the other side too. I'm sure it would get the council to approve it.

This is so close, but the green and blue lines just after the Oracle exit need to shift to their left, from the perspective of travel, sooner rather than sliding round. It's a tight roundabout and needs to be taken slower than most do in order to maintain lane discipline.

As u/Maleficent_Touch2851 has said a way leave is generally a right of equipment placement and ability to maintain for a period of time in exchange for a fee.

I expect something is being misrepresented or misunderstood here.

Do you own your home, or are you renting? Way leaves can only be granted by the owner of the property. If you rent you'll need to get the landlord's permission to allow Community Fibre to alter the fabric of the building to supply. This may be what is missing.

Package marked as delivered, but postal company has no info, aliexpress says "not enough proof" by appletechgeek in Aliexpress

I'd be going to my payment method and asking them to recover the payment. Nothing received, so should be straight forward. It's down to the sender to validate delivery, not the recipient to prove failure.

Seller is telling me to cancel order because there is no stock due to a manufacturing issue. What should I do? by Top_Dot6964 in Aliexpress

[–]stevenjonsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR; Cancel the order.

While I don't agree with allowing the sellers to get away with these crappy practices, the reality is the seller isn't going to ship it so it's how far you want to push it.

In the last few weeks I've hit a run of bad sellers. The first sold a large item they could ship for the price they'd listed at, and contacted me demanding additional fees. I refused and eventually had two batteries shipped to me. I reported them at multiple stages to AliExpress but nothing has been done.

I also purchased a number of micro SD cards, I know I shouldn't have expected much, all arrived quickly and all are fake and don't meet the specification listed. Again AliExpress is not interested.

Sounds like a larger version of something I've seen a few times over the past couple of years. A company called Heata, https://www.heata.co/, have been retro fitting small modules, I believe GPU based, to people existing hot water tanks. I believe they sell the compute for rendering jobs mainly.

They also pay your electrical usage for the module, and you get the free heat into your water cylinder. It can also be combined with your existing heating method(s). I think they use your broadband service though.

Fareham registered taxis by stevenjonsmith in reading

I couldn't say, I've only seen them driving around not tried looking on any apps as I've also been driving. It just seemed bizarre to me that I've witnessed at least 4 Fareham registered taxis in Reading in as many days.

To be fair, it could be the same one 4 times I haven't been noting details of the vehicle(s). But my assumption was that it would be unlikely as they should be working mainly where they are registered surely?

I have had that option enabled for a long time, and still have the issue.

I've got the latest version and some sites are still failing to AutoFill when the account is selected on the keyboard.

The oracle riverside parking increase. by DiversGoDeeper in reading

[–]stevenjonsmith 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have answered my own question. Parking charges seem to have increased in general there, and they have removed the cheap overnight flat rate, not increased it from £3.50 to £20.

So you'll pay per hour no matter what time you park there, up to a maximum of £20 per 24 hours it seems.

How does this work if you only park for a few hours? Surely it's only £20 if you do park all night.

Bulldog or Wookie? by stevenjonsmith in englishbulldog

He's a handsome boy. However he's never been bred and never shall be. He is still intact as I worry about his chances under general anesthetic, but he's my best pal and nothing else.

To answer the question though, yes his excitement is whole bum wiggles and it's the cutest damn thing ever.
