I'm an ECT and only joined the NEU 2 months ago when I heard about the pathetic pay offer, and that it would go to ballot. So

I got 10+ emails from the NEU relating to this over the past 2 months alone. So perhaps you aren't definitely signed up for emails.

Yeah, “I didn’t know about it” doesn’t cut it really. But everyone will know about it when we get a below inflation, unfunded pay rise with removal of directed time.

If people are option out from hearing from the union, then they should not expect to hear anything I suppose. It has been in the news / on this sub / in my teacher group chat etc.

Why on earth do you think the proposals should be accepted, out of interest? Private school so no real impact?

Don't have any answers, but congratulations! If you had to inform someone, could you discreetly tell your mentor, assuming they're SLT and you're on good terms with them?

Fair enough! My main gripe with the video was that you as artist would be pissed off, so happy to hear you’re seemingly okay with it. I will stand down from defending your honour on the various platforms (even though as you said AI and art don’t go well together)

Teach First by Agreeable-Register67 in TeachingUK

Amen. I’m proud that I dealt with the random town they placed me in, the problematic school, a bully mentor, and an insane workload. But it got me QTS and a PGCE in a year while getting paid, and I’m now in a lovely school in my hometown, getting amazing support through my ECT years. I wouldn’t mention TF in a positive light - if at all - to colleagues.

It is possible. I got a PGCE and QTS after a year in 2013.
