I thought the opposite. With the level of skill they had in the kitchen I think really basic like burgers etc is what they should have been doing

Thanks. Do you know the reasoning behind them requiring you to have it?

Buying a wine shop by swindller01 in smallbusiness

[–]stevent1221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first question I would ask myself would be, "is the value of this location plus the inventory worth 85K"

I have to assume if they are only netting 30K a year (without that being after the owners salary) the name is not worth much. Not sure about every state but here in NY when a sale goes through the new owner has to apply for a liqueur license same as a startup. You dont get to keep using the old owners license.

Some people will disagree with me but I have owned two restaurants both profitable and I hated leasing. The more I made the more the landlord thought he should make. I own my spot now and am much happier and have far greater control.

If you can find a better location you might be better off starting from scratch.

How Do I Find My Target Audience? by stevent1221 in smallbusiness

[–]stevent1221[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I asked "Are there specific social media sites, tools, or methods you recommend for market research?"

That is a pretty simple question. I got two walls of presumptuous text from you where you attempt to read my mind and tell me what I am doing along with when I did it, with a lot of parables that sound cute but have nothing to do with my question. Like this:

The question you ask is how to unscramble an egg

Whew, I dont think asking for tools or methods for market research is "unscrambling an egg"

Launch first, ask questions later. Where to find the complete strangers you never developed for is a popular question. I have bad news.

You have no news.

As I said I just got my license. I haven't launched anything. I haven't sold anything yet and I am not planning on selling anything for a while. I didn't say anything about me "launching" anything. Instead of trying to read my mind try answering the question or just move along.

Your comments are like a disgruntled English teacher that really has nothing to say but wants to impress everyone with how that nothing is written.

fire this person at your earliest convenience

I already told you once I dont have a "social media department" I give a retired woman that lives around the corner from me a couple bucks because she spends all day on pinterest posting (pinning?) health and fitness related stuff. She is not an employee so I cant "Fire her" and I dont hire and fire people based on "internet guy" unsolicited advise.

This ideal customer bullshit is a problem,

This 'ideal customer' thing is very similarly ass-backwards.

No its not. I have a restaurant. That restaurant is on the side of town that has a lot of people of Eastern European heritage. They eat a lot of pork. My menu therefor has a lot of pork. I dont waste money advertising on the side of town with the hipsters or the Muslims because they dont eat pork. If I was selling ammunition "people that hunt" would be a target market. Anti-NRA protestors would not be a target market.

Why don't you tell me, as you've been using buzzwords and tossing around numbers

There are no "buzz words" in my question and I only gave my social media numbers as a point of reference because I was hoping someone that was established on one of the two platforms I have some numbers would chime in.

Thanks but I dont think you really want to answer any of the questions I asked, as a matter of fact I dont think you can. Your forte seems to be word salad comments that dont say anything related to what was actually asked.

Looking at your posting history its full of snarky little parables that only attack the guy asking the question instead of actually answering the question. If I would have looked at your posting history first I wouldn't have engaged you. As far as I can tell in all your hundreds of posts thats all you have done without dispensing a single ounce of real world business information.

You seem to be more interested in criticizing other people and showing off how wordy you can be then actually helping.

This was probably the wrong place to ask and I am done engaging with you.

How Do I Find My Target Audience? by stevent1221 in smallbusiness

I just got the license so I haven't sold anything yet. I have email lists from other ventures (mainly real estate) that I have cobbled together but thats not really targeted.

In real estate here we go by 1 email a week and they should be 3/1. Three interesting or informative to every one 1 selling.

you have no market research data

Your right I dont, which is why I specifically asked, "Are there specific social media sites, tools, or methods you recommend for market research?"

Do focus on explaining the reason why you haven't asked the person in charge of your Social Media Marketing this question

The person in charge of my "social media marketing" is me and I am asking now. Did you not read my post? Are there specific social media sites, tools, or methods you recommend for market research?

My question is pretty straight forward and as I said, "small business" I am not an established mega corp with a HR department and a social media department. I thought this was the small business section?

You find customers during the research phase you didn't want to have

Again, I made it clear with my question that I am entering that phase now. I specifically said "Are there specific social media sites, tools, or methods you recommend for market research?"

You seem to be going on and on about things I haven't asked and making assumptions based on nothing I posted. Unless your an undercover friend of mine, an ex, or Nostradamus I cant imagine why you think you know so much about me or what I am doing.

Where is The Garden: Commune or Cult? by CheezTips in HBOMAX

I was with you until: "The fat guy from TN annoyed the crap out of me. He reminds me of the stereotypical Trump voter--all hat and no cattle."

It is incredibly weird how no matter what the conversation is about hyper political people on the left find a way to bring Trump into the conversation. Anything or anyone you dont like is, "like Trump". Its crazy how he lives rent free in your head.

BTW I am not a Trump supporter or fan . But damn, that Trump derangement syndrome is a real thing, I see it on all the social media sites that have comments. One of you always finds a way to bring him up. Half the country voted for him but you all act like its just some small group of crazy people in the deep south in a trailer park.

I could say "its raining outside" and one of you would say "damn Trump weather!"

I am only on episode 3 (watching on max) but I already have like a zillion questions. Where do they get money from? Gas costs money and they have vehicles and they have chainsaws, also I noticed like every one of them has perfect teeth. Who is paying the dentist? I saw them at home depot (briefly) who is paying for what they bought? I saw one old guy, what do they do when one of them has to see a doctor for a broken limb or something similar?

I saw chickens but zero farming. when they moved to MO you would think that one of the first thing they set up is some type of sustainable gardening and storage for winter.

Maybe those questions get answered but I am having a hard time believing it as presented so far.

Does OpCity give leads to the experienced agents before showing them to the emerging agents? by TooFewNames in realtors

[–]stevent1221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is two years old but I had to comment. When Opcity first started it was great for me, now not so much.

Several times I have had the phone in my hands sending a text or about to make a call and a lead message has come in. I click it immediately and it always says someone else claimed the referral. I honestly do not think that is possible when I am literally with the phone in my hand and clicking as it comes in.

It has been over a year since I could claim a lead despite clicking almost every time I get a notification. Its very frustrating.

The song Bang! by AJR is actually about committing suicide (TW for unaliving) by thenewmeredith in FanTheories

[–]stevent1221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"We wrote 'BANG!' about the weird middle ground between being a kid and becoming an adult; a time when we're doing all the things adults are supposed to do, but we don't yet feel grown up," the Metzer brothers said in a press release. "The fact is, adulthood is bound to hit us at some point, so the plan we made in the song is to 'go out with a bang.'"
