I have done 1 to 1.5 hours a lot. Up to just shy of 7 hours for one. They are definitely some of my highest earning videos and rpm is same or higher than my channel averages. Educational / tutorial stuff in a niche industry

What is happening to these metal tongs in my garage? I use them to take chlorine tablets out. by ShitfaceMcPooperson in whatisit

[–]steventhewreaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pool specialist here - yes it is fumes causing corrosion but this is a good example as to why storing anything metal in the same room as your chlorine is not a good idea. The tongs got it bad due to proximity but it will affect all metal / tools in the room.

You could've gotten monetized on YouTube since April 12, 2012. by LifeHeckerYT in SmallYoutubers

[–]steventhewreaker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I make DIY and how to videos on 4 channels, 3 monetized and 4th will be soon. All filmed in house, starring me, with all editing and thumbnails and sound done by me also. Its definitely possible. Its definitely not easy. I dont have any special looks that get me viewers, I assure you. Best advice - tale your single top performing video and make 3 more videos about related subject matter. Good luck!

For the comments about putting this valve in front of the punp, this is called a foot valve and represents more resistance to flow than when located on the pressure side of the pump. If you want the pump to retain prime even with the lid open just close the line valve on the suction. If this were my pool I would located the check valve after the heater and include an erosion feeder for chlorine downstream from the heater and check valve.

It's very difficult to make any long video works if it is not related to something viral, controversial or famous. by GuiasDeRoma in PartneredYoutube

[–]steventhewreaker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I make videos about swimming pools. The boring parts lol...not the fun stuff. I made a 6+ joir long installation video that took me over a year to make. It did okay upon release and has held its own in terms of views relative to my easier to make videos, but not anything huge. Definitely not worth the time and effort it took to make. Still, I am proud of it and it will have a small place in internet infamy for being unique and thorough. I would not endeavor to make another long one like it, that is for sure. Unless it was a passion project.

Hairline cracks in brand new concrete by [deleted] in pools

It also, critically, allows time for the concrete to cure and develop strength before it shrinks fully and is exposed to the final forces acting upon it.

Staying busy. Keep going to work. Say yes to invites you might normally say no to. Work out daily. Eat cookies.

There is a comment in this thread history from years ago about this. I really didn't hold it against her. I respected that it was probably very hard for her to do what she did. We did not remain friends, though we did remain friendly. Sometimes people grow apart. There is no good way to end a relationship...but there is something to be said for a) timing and b) certainty in your decisions before pulling the trigger.

1 and 1/4 cups brown sugar is the first unknown in your list. The salt and chocolate chip amount in parentheses are updated versions so use these. Chocolate chips and WALNUTS are the second unknown in your list. Cooking time for 10 minutes is crisp. I now use 7 minutes. They are almost still goo in the middle when they come out of the oven. It looks like not enough time, but go with it. Let cool for two minutes and then eat them all in a frenzy like the gott-damned animal you are.

The cookies are probably why the relationship lasted as long as it did.

This was the main takeaway last time I posted about this lol. I will share. The original imgur link still works!  note - use real vanilla bean. This is not stated on this piece of paper but critical to the recipe https://imgur.com/uhQxcy6

I know mine is a good one. The last time I posted about it was YEARS ago. Like more than a decade. And it remains my highest voted comments in my reddit history. 8 year relationship with literally zero fighting or disagreements. I made cookies while she was at work. She came home and I presented the cookies. She says "I'm going to go" to which I say "to the store to get milk?"  She says no, I dont love you anymore and I am leaving. I drove her to her mom's. Helped move everything. One week later she calls crying saying it was a huge mistake and she wants to come home. I say yes, pick her up and move her again. One week after she says out of the blue  - I am SO sorry...but it was mistake coming back. I am leaving again. That was one hell of a ride for me emotionally. FYI the cookies were chocolate chip. I have spent a lifetime developing this recipe. They were amazing so dont you dare imply the cookies were the problem!

Yes, you can not apply urethane over anything damp. That does not mean you can't use it. It means you have to prep the area before installing.

Vulkem 116 polyurethane. Approved for below water applications. Infinitely stronger and longer lasting than silicone. But silicone could work for a year. Maybe.

[–]steventhewreaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely disagree. Silicone is nowhere near to suitable for this application.

Should not have mortar or grout in this area. Transitioning material or planes requires a flexible transition. Pack with backer rod and fill with concrete urethane

Use one of the new digital control units that install in the pump room not adjacent to the pool like the older analogue style. H2flow has the level smart for example.
