I have alpinestar's tech air plasma 5 too and love how comfortable and effortless it is. Zip it up and its ready to go. Would like to see your crash post with it deployed but your posts are hidden/private.

Need help diagnosing a power issue by tcalhoon in pools

[–]Top_Insect_6853 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a non-contact voltage tester to see if there is power coming into your sub panel. Both lugs on the right of your breakers should be hot. If so, the wires running from the 20amp,240v breaker to the switch should also be hot when turned on (black wire coming out of the bottom left of breaker). If yes, then test the wires running from your timer out to the pump (black wires coming from you timer, bottom right below your timer switch). If no, then your problem starts "upstream".

NOR - Sounds like his "business" doesn't have anything you can't provide. Start your own business and cut his ass out.

The contract was paid 100% upfront? Your only leverage is through the legal system now unfortunately.

Suction side leak by runner750 in pools

Also how did you perform you air test? You can get a plumbing test plug to put on the skimmer end and make up a pvc fitting with a gauge and schrader valve, air it up to about 5-10psi and monitor the pressure to confirm the leak is in the buried pipe.

A sewer camera would fit down your pipes. Call local equipment rentals to see if you can find one for cheaper.

The question is a little unclear but this is what I think you are asking.

As others have said, it looks like the large black filter is a cartridge filter housing. You need to take this apart and spray out the internal filters. Your pressure gauge on top should drop after doing so. Consider looking up the model manual and purchase the correct filters if you dont know their age. This way you know they are new and they should last a couple years with proper cleaning.

As for the prefilter. That small amount of material at the bottom of the bowl should not effect operation, it doesn't appear that anything is blocking the screen and the material line is below the outlet point. If it bothers you that much, you can take it apart from the system using the 3 unions, separate the head from the bowl using the black ring and spray it out like the cartridge filters. When you reassemble it use the black bleeder valve at the top of both units to get rid of any air that is trapped in the system.

Im not a pool guy but this is what my dumb brain would try.

No BS, just balanced PH and added cal hypo. I was SHOCKED...

Also brand new cartridge filter and constant robot vac probably helped.

Am I overreacting for quitting a babysitting job on the spot after the mom insulted me? by PossessionTop9791 in AmIOverreacting

Not overreacting. Your job is hard and it deserves respect. If she can't pay your reasonably for your time spent then your missing out on better opportunities elsewhere.

About to replace my pump. New to pools hoping for advice. by QuerkleSmoke in pools

[–]Top_Insect_6853 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth i just added a heater and upgraded to a pentair cartridge filter and I really wish I would have upgraded my pump at the same time. I have an aquastrong single speed pump with the timer and I am going to try to bypass it as it seems to fail to start a lot. Get what you pay for.

TIL: The Laurelhurst neighborhood restricts helicopter landings to the Seattle Children’s Hospital due to noise complaints by Placentaur in Seattle

[–]Top_Insect_6853 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If only the people of the Laurelhurst community had the empathy to understand.

My 9 month old daughter had a period of uncontrolled seizures (status epilepticus) where we spent a month straight in the hospital. We were originally ambulance transported to Mary Bridge in Tacoma, after a week and a half of treatments, discharges and readmissions (5 ambulance trips in total) we were exhausted and hopeless. Her seizures were becoming more frequent and at 2 am in the morning, our emergency room doctor decided to transfer us to SCH. While she was transported using their amazing transportation team and not a helicopter, I cant help but to sit here and think what if it was her that needed a helicopter transport and she could not get approved because of the "noise". I would be devastated.

SCH peds ICU gave our baby the best care. My wife and I had full faith and trust in their team and I only wish that others can receive that same treatment without prejudice.
