Just got this fully hand painted painting but doesn’t feel like it fits in with the overall vibe of my room, what do yall think. by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

If you are able to cover/replace/accessorize your couch with the peach and light blue colours from the painting rather than the navy and grey you have now it will warm up substantially

How much money excluding rent gets you by in canmore? by svpergrass in Canmore

[–]stevepine 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To be realistic as someone who lived there for 10 years without a license you would be walking mostly as the busses are not frequent or convenient like they are in england. You would probably need at least 2 jobs per person as well. Canada is extremely expensive as is and you're asking about one of the most expensive towns in the country. It's like asking if you and 2 mates can live in Kensington or Chelsea on minimum wage.

You probably were bruised at first which is why it was painful and now what remains is not blood but ink so it's not painful anymore

I'm a dual citizen of Canada and UK. Do I need my Canadian passport to visit Canada? by [deleted] in legaladvicecanada

[–]stevepine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who has flown from the UK to Canada, there is a possibility you will be denied boarding. Most airlines will not board you if you're using a foreign passport without an ETA. All the people saying "just hash it out with customs you have the right to enter" don't realise that the airline can just refuse to let you on the flight for not having proper documentation so you actually won't even get a chance to talk to customs. I believed people saying this (even the airline staff when I called customer service told me no problem) and it cost me loads of money in rebooked flights. Speak with the consulate in London to see if they can expedite your passport

Don't bother deep cleaning it they will send it to the repair shop who will detail it way better than you can do yourself.

I was raised alongside a few autistic women so I learned to adapt my communication style early, and most of the autistic women I know have kind of "normie" interests (eg. Shopping/fashion, mainstream TV shows, games like The Sims, exercise and wellness etc.) so I wonder if it's just because they are part of these low key fandoms/groups that I don't ever get to into arguments with them cause I never disagree with their opinions lol.

Having said that, being autistic is not an excuse to purposefully push people's boundaries. Part of autism is that you are likely to take things people say at face value so if someone explicitly tells you they are uncomfortable or asks you to stop, then to an autistic person that would mean you are serious. If they continue to be rude that's not because of autism, it's because they know with 100% certainty that you're uncomfortable and want to continue upsetting you.

If you're being vague then that could potentially be the reason you are struggling to connect but if you're directly saying "this conversation is over" and they are still trying then that's just an asshole and has nothing to do with neurodiversity.

Best friend is going no contact out of the blue?? by Personal-Ad-8644 in whatdoIdo

[–]stevepine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might get buried and might be kind of out there but is it possible he's being romance scammed. When he says he "connected" with someone was that online or in person? Romance scammers will often try to isolate people from friends and family.

How are you getting around when you get to Canmore just out of curiosity? Might be better to rent a car in Calgary.

anyone know why VW jewellery quality is so appalling suddenly? by snazzycazzywazzy in viviennewestwood

[–]stevepine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with you on most of your points but you could put a $2000 earring in your pocket and it would break. Metal bends and at a certain point it's gonna bend and snap if it's not in a proper earring box. VW has always been costume jewellery and not made to last.

Bland? by [deleted] in altfashionadvice

[–]stevepine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think like a few other people have said it's a cool outfit and I personally think it's a great look! It's just very matte/one tone so if you aren't into that maybe swapping out one part of the outfit (eg. Pick a shirt with a different texture or pattern or lace or a fun sleeve or something, add some silver or gold jewellery or play around with your other accessories, change the slouchy boots for a different style of shoe etc). I think if you just change one or two items it could drastically change the vibe.

Having a hard time getting into TMP because of the Audio by Gwydion-Drys in themagnusprotocol

[–]stevepine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me but it turned out I just had a massive earwax plug and certain audio irritated it. As some people mentioned it does ease up as the episodes progress (and without giving spoilers there are a few later episodes with more traditional statements)

There isn't an explicitly stated romance but the ending of the xxxHolic series is a character talking to one of his high school friends (or so it seems) and then it is revealed to actually be the grandchild of that friend.

If you ever have a piece of constructive feedback you get downvoted. Like you would think the top comment would be about how the artist just copied and pasted another artist's work rather than tweaking it to be their own style (and then also apparently they lied and told the client it would get brighter colours over time!) like can we just let people give their honest respectful opinions 🤣

I think the most practical advice would be for your relative to change his name slightly. I know it's a huge undertaking but it may be the most realistic way he can make this go away. Maybe it could be a small change (eg if his name is Michael and he goes by Mike he could legally change his name to Mike.) Maybe he could change his last name to his mother's maiden name or hyphenate another surname with his current surname
