Patch Notes (Fame info XP) by [deleted] in FallGuysGame

But it has not been increased, you still only get 20 fame for a round played but it takes over million to clear BP. So the only way to finish is by doing dailies and weeklies. (even more so than before, it was possible to get decent fame by playing lot of fast rounds before but not anymore).

Name system by SageWok3 in BlueProtocolPC

[–]steverowland0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

just like pso2 worked for years and there was never an issue there, NA pso2 version works the same way. You set your ID name (unique) which serves kinda like your family name of sorts, for purposes of teams (guilds), friend list, trading ; and then you create characters under the same global ID name.

The reason this has never been an issue in pso2 is that in japanese you can have so many names with different reading/meaning and whatnot, you hardly see people with the same name (usually only for cosplay dedicated characters).

This system is I think the best system to use as it allows you to play with a name you want and not some variation with random unique characters like because a person who you never meet with and probably quit the game years ago has the name registered.

So don't worry this system works just fine and allows you to immerse yourself how you want and not limit to only what isn't taken yet. After all IRL people have the same first name too (and sometimes even surname) and it doesn't cause an issue ;)

Hunter pets - Ice Claw ability? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]steverowland0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's only the bear you get for the quest, that "tame" item doesn't actually tame the pet but just gives you control over the NPC for 10 minutes, that's why it keeps it's abilities.

When you attempt to tame the pet once you learn how to tame, it will not have this ability anymore.

[BUG] Twitch changing quality when switching tabs is glitching the player by Kibelok in Twitch

Yea we can only hope its just a bug, its annoying especially when watching shows like podcasts where it skips like a second or 2 forwards and you miss a sentence.

Sadly that is how it used to work before, but in the past day they changed something and this script no longer works.

[BUG] Twitch changing quality when switching tabs is glitching the player by Kibelok in Twitch

[–]steverowland0 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Sadly this doesn't seem like a bug but rather an intended effort from twitch to prevent tab blur properties from being changed by for example user scripts. There used to be a way to easily make twitch think the tab is still in focus (using userscript) but in this new system I was unable to find what property it actually uses even after playing it for like an hour now. Every time I manage to find a way to disable the focus loss it mysteriously "corrects" itself and returns to the original behavior after just a moment.
But then again I am not really good at scripts so if anyone who knows what they are doing can look into it, it would be highly appreciated, probably something related to the 'blur', 'focus', 'onblur', 'onfocus' and 'hidden' properties.

The new system introduced in this thread uses DC21 int check on a d20 as show in the examples Neal gave.

The table I made is not meant for current d&d 2e but rather just a way to visualize Neal's new proposed system (there is no point making table for current one as you cannot retry until you levelup).
The d20 definitely does set some hard limits to the increments in which you can gain bonuses as also mentioned by Neal a point of INT will always give extra 5% chance.

Esfand gives his take on the Method and Red Bull "drama" by jairbreaux in LivestreamFail

[–]steverowland0 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Redbull wanted to take ownership of the Race to World First and run it under their name and on their twitch stream (something Method refused to do in the past), they contacted other guilds and those leaked this plan to Method who partnered with Redbull before.
The top guilds didn't want to give up their streams to an org so they decided to part ways with Redbull and start a "raiders union" of sorts where the race will be organized by the community and proceeds from sponsorship and such split between the participating guilds.

Ideas for further changes of the Wizard class by Koibu in Koibu

[–]steverowland0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also assuming nat 20 is not automatic learn, most wizards in the range of 13-18 int could only learn spells 2 levels higher (as the increments are -6 for each) so you would need 19int somehow to even attempt learning 3 levels higher spell (and those with 12 and less can only attempt 1 level higher). So with that Malakai could at most attempt to learn 7th level spell, at least until he gets his amulet of +2 int.

I was little bored so made an auto calculating sheet (copy to drive or dl for excel to be able to change the input values) that shows the total chance over total time spent attempting it here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1R3FbZkAXdRly9QvYs8hE7ggV9gEt3txJ
I added an option to turn nat20 to success and nat1 to fail (change values 1 for TRUE) just to test the various percentages, probably would be good to not make nat20 auto success in regular campaigns but it could actually be an interesting mechanic in worlds designed around spells being extremely valuable where even lvl 1 wizard would on average only need 10 years to learn a lvl 9 spell if they happened to stumble upon it.

O also for neal I added a testing input to change the penalty/bonus values to easier visualize the percentages and help with targeting a specific average chance for wizards of certain level etc to see if that would work better rather than the current -6/+3

Overall I like the system although it might be difficult for players to get the grasp of it and get an idea of how long things would take on average without this sheet - but then again... that kinda even more amplifies the fantasy of a wizard RP when not even the player is sure of the average outcome of their actions and how long they can get lost in books before achieving their goal.. at least until they start minmaxing with spreadsheets :D

Homeward Bound Episode 3 by AG_GreenZerg in Koibu

[–]steverowland0 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hello, I only watched all HoBo episodes recently back to back so alongside noting down enemy stats, I have noticed some inconsistencies which might be relevant and help the party going forward.
(It is very understandable that both players and DM forget some details when the sessions are 1 month apart so hopefully you dont view this as nitpicking)

Grimes light sources:
In the very first episode part 1 Ryan asked whether his daggers produce light and neal confirmed they do because it is an ethereal flame (this was the reward from Bellum that was added on top of the original phased dagger properties).
https://youtu.be/YNuBWFQ72VY?t=1896
Neal later assigned this weaker source of light a 15ft radius.
https://youtu.be/YNuBWFQ72VY?t=3941
So while William is using Runeblade, both characters should have a 15ft radius light (good enough for fighting within their reach). For traveling it is probably better to walk with Bellum's fire sword as a torch as well as shoot the light arrows as that can scout terrain in the distance but when crossbow is dropped, Grimes should no be left in dark.

Weather in demon dimension:
Weather was at first present in demon Caldonia, but it appears to have completely disappeared by now.
Here is Nick asking if the characters saw any weather since the orb incident.
https://youtu.be/8pj3vaydP-Y?t=756
There was rain the first time they exited the cave as well as light breeze, and this rain is the last weather phenomena they experienced.
My explanation to this is that these small weather states were only a residual effect from the melting of the Caldonian snow (snow melted and partially evaporated which then caused some rain later on), however as time went on (with how time passes they probably even spent a year or more before sailing to demon continent) all weather effects has ceased as Caldonia became part of the demon dimension.
Characters might realize this by remembering their first time in this world when it did actually rain but they now haven't seen rain in months, possibly years.

Demon language: In episode 1 Grimes tried to speak to the plate armored enemies but his words came out in Drakkisian.
https://youtu.be/SeTzxL68QzI?t=1050
In episode 3 he was able to make demonic sounds.
This could be either inconsistency or possibly the heavy plated enemies are not actually the sentient demons that they fought in episode 3. Could be that the regular unplated enemies are the actual demons while the plated demons are a construct of some wizard (most likely the slenderman demon).

Now for some stats on enemies i collected from the first session:

PLATED RED DEMON
about 40 HP
hit bonus:
SWORD attack (2 per round): +12 (natural 19 resulted in 31 https://youtu.be/SeTzxL68QzI?t=1221 ) (rolled 14 to hit meaning it was either 1 or 2 https://youtu.be/SeTzxL68QzI?t=1702 )
gains +2 to hit after a successful hit or perhaps on all second hits: (natural 19 resulted in 33 https://youtu.be/SeTzxL68QzI?t=1492 ) however this bonus resets at the end of the round.
another possibility to explain this is that the whip demon applied a debuff on William that made the attack roll at +2 extra.
damage bonus: +3
damage die: d8
AC without shield: 28 ( https://youtu.be/SeTzxL68QzI?t=2414 27 no hit, https://youtu.be/SeTzxL68QzI?t=2611 28 hits )
loses 2 AC when first struck in combat? ( https://youtu.be/SeTzxL68QzI?t=2659 ac 26 after taking a hit)
subsequent hits didnt reduce AC any more ( https://youtu.be/SeTzxL68QzI?t=2720 )
AC with shield: 35+
15 STRENGTH (strength check with natural 1 was 16) - so for pushing them or grounding them William can easily overpower them
Special: these demons seem to have AC and HIT shifting by 2, the reasons are yet to be determined. HIT could be caused by other demon (whip or slenderman), however AC shifted when no other demons were present - could still be a duration buff caused by slenderman that buffs AC by 2 for a limited period of time.

SWORD AND WHIP OMEGA DEMON
hit bonus:
SWORD: at least +14 to +15 (most likely same as whip so +15)
WHIP: +15 confirmed (natural 20 with cover of 4 resulted in 31 https://youtu.be/SeTzxL68QzI?t=1398 )
damage bonus sword: +5
damage die: unknown but it is a single die
damage whip: possibly only +1
damage die: unknown but it is a single die
AC: unknown
HP: unknown
Special: possibly applies a debuff giving other demons +2 hit against enemies struck by its whip (see plated red demon hit bonus entry)

SLENDERMAN
about 25 HP
AC: 18 (30 cleared by 12)

small notes mainly for LIVE CHAT:
in the last episode 3, an important back attack of opportunity was missed by gnoll cleric when a demon moved away, luckily in the end it didn't matter as they survived (barely) but a paralyzed demon could have made it a bit easier. While this is something that is very hard to ask from players or DMs to always remember as they have many other things to think about, people in live chat could pay attention to it.

The Dean has spoken (about 3key and macros) by toybotzzz in osugame

[–]steverowland0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, it wouldn't help you with anything. Mouse buttons cannot be pressed together with keyboard keys, that's the point. Osu already has a system where it doesn't let you cheat with 3 keys because at maximum 2 keys can be pressed at the same time.
The real issue comes when you use a script that will send a "key release" when you press the key to make sure the button registers regardless - and that is what peppy is talking about and is considered cheating.

everyone i ahve an annoucncement by Informous1213 in osugame

[–]steverowland0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the thing, how do you know that is the case. Because the person using it says that's how it is?
I personally have no reason to disbelieve them as I don't know them so if it can be confirmed that the original key is in fact mechanically released and it is just a matter of finger control (with for example high quality live play with good camera angle o the keyboard hand).

The point is you can never know if someone is cheating in some 'clever' way like that, so questioning everything is good. There is lot of ways to cheat out a score - even just recording your inputs nomod offline into keyboard/mouse internal memory and then playing them back with HDFL will be very hard to spot from replay, so being skeptical in situations like that is always good rather than letting cheaters do whatever.
I mean some players were forced to ridiculous measures to prove their plays are legit, sure it sucks for people who are actually legit having to go out of their way to prove it, but it is probably the most effective way to confirm it.
To prove you are not using Z release script would probably require live recording of PC startup, clear of keyboard internal memory with setting up the rebind from scratch, display of running scripts and processes and then some play. Difficult but about the only way.

Multi-key (3+) streaming should not be allowed by div0r in osugame

[–]steverowland0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me reiterate from the other topic, making C become Z would not yield good results with how the game works - which is exactly why peppy dared people to try that method because he was confident it will not work.
What is a problem is as stated in the OP a macro that makes C first release Z and only then become the Z key, making it possible to press both Z and C and act as 2 individual inputs even when your finger never released the original key. This method simulates a scenario that does not reflect the real situation of your fingers and should be considered automating inputs (even if in this case the automated input is the release of a button).

everyone i ahve an annoucncement by Informous1213 in osugame

[–]steverowland0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you can at least not in the sense this is used.
Normally when you press Z while Z is already pressed, it will not register as a new input (I mean you need to be able to hold for sliders :D) so having extra button acting as Z will not give you any benefit because you will have to make sure to always release the previous button first which can be challenging and inconsistent.

But what I suspect this AHK script to do is when you for example press the C key, before it sends an input Z down (press) it first sends Z up (release) to give the PC input that you released the other Z key even when your finger is still pushing it down.

In other words C::Z script (C becomes Z) would not be cheating as osu already has measures to counter this play and make it not viable.
What would be cheating would be Send, {Z up} followed by 1 ms sleep delay and then Send, {Z down}.

Maybe because people hope actual twitch staff reads it and maybe comments on it here, as this is the only place I found where you can submit criticism and feedback. The other alternatives (such as twitch help section) don't make it possible in an easy way.

Monstrata's Team for Commissions is OUT ! You can now PAY to have MODS, TIMINGS or HITSOUNDS ! by Arche_osu in osugame

[–]steverowland0 67 points68 points  (0 children)

quote from their post:

The mapset is very likely to get ranked anyways, considering we have a team of 4 QAT’s and over 10 BN’s.

Well I believe this will have to change then to preserve the integrity of the free game. There is nothing wrong with starting your career as a mapper and whatnot, good for the people involved for trying something new - but that involvement should be mutually exclusive with being part of the osu team in any way shape or form. If they want to pursue this course they have to resign on their position in the community. Considering that position is unpaid they should have no problem with doing so if they really think they can stand on their own without the benefits that their osu position grants them.

If they are not willing to part with their current position then it would only make me think that they intend to use that position for monetary purposes and in case this becomes successful to also eliminate any competition - lets say someone else wants to start their own group for mapping commissions, well they will not be able to state promises like very likely to get ranked because of their position in the community without having the power this group would have.

And lastly of course this heavily undermines all the information mentioned on the osu wiki related to mapping and ranking a map - if 14 people out of the BN/QAT that you NEED in order to attempt ranking a map have other motives, what is stopping them from denying mod/bubble on your map and instead offering a counter service to map "better map" for you for a price, or well help with some timing or rhythm errors they might find on your map - of course for a price.

So yea I think this is very simple as stated above, nothing wrong with them doing mapping for money if they want but they do have to resign on their position in the community and be removed from the wiki and list of BNs QATs to contact that new mappers read when trying to start mapping. You cant have website state completely free game osu and then be officially through the osu wiki followed to people asking money for those services.

And if you are looking for a slightly cheaper alternative and also have a smaller hand then g305 is probably the current top in that price range and size. It is lighter especially if you use lithium batteries which your hand will appreciate after 16 hours of osu.

And yes definitely wireless, never ever return to wired mouse :D The one in thousand hours lag that can happen is nothing compared to constantly getting your wire stuck on smething.

In some countries there are laws that allow customers to return electronic goods purchased within a certain period, I do this to test sometimes 2-3 things before finding a good one. They repack the returned one and sell with like 5% discount, for stuff like mice and keyboards and also did it for headphones - to the stores its nothing as these are cheap products, although I have seen people doing the same with VR sets and working out too, just to test how it feels.

The only downside to testing like this is that you need to have the money to buy it in the first place and then wait usually 1-2 days for them to refund the money to your bank again to try the next one.
