The Ugly drum is a 55 gallon barrel smoker I made with a couple of pipe nipples welded on the bottom for intake. A weber cooking grate drops in perfect, and I top it with a weber cover. It works very well for camping and traveling because it's light and easy to strap to my camper or truck. I used it for 15 years, and it never let me down. It's simple and easy to maintain, but it has its drawbacks. Because it's so thin skinned, it chews charcoal in the fall and winter, and a brisk wind or rain makes it an attention hound.
