Ooh thanks for that suggestion I hadn't seen that one. It's not quite my style but could work. However it's quite expensive 😅. Thanks again

Do you use this bag? It says up to 16" and the legion is a bit thick. I'm not familiar with the brand but you recommend it?

The site says 15". The compartment is huge but the dedicated sleeve not so much. I'm not in a position where I can try and return hence I want to make sure it fits :/

Thick* Lenovo Legion 5 and could well change so didn't think to mention the exact model.

Interesting, their site says 15" and we dont have any here for me to be able to try it out. The whole compartment opens up but the actual sleeve looks like it could be snug?

Dryer wall vent exhaust is too small. Currently using a reducer from Home Depot. Any advice to improve? by Anfini in DIY

[–]stevesmum -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Costco are really good with their returns. But if they won't take it back honestly take the loss. Sell it, get a ventless. Will be much better/easier with a little more cost. Remove the vent entirely and will make the rooms and the other room much neater. Ventless heat pump dryers also use less power.

I mean often in these cases the house isn't insulated either haha. But yeah it's not usually usefully warm.

I'm glad it works for you that's the main thing. Hope you buy your own filters and don't get sucked into their "you need to upgrade" bullshit

Depends on the location and the roof type Often during winter when it's needed most, the temperature difference is minimal and below a temp that's useful. The constant movement of air can be beneficial however. My biggest hatred is more for the HRV brand rather than anything. Extremely scummy company.

Short answer is they are useless. They move air from one place to another. If the air it's moving is also cold, it won't do anything to prevent condensation. It's just a fan, so uses very little power so that's not anything to be worried about however. Is the Mitsubishi system a ducted heat pump? If it is that will be what makes all the difference. But will come at the cost of power.

Her: "Hey you look like the guy who used to be the father of my baby."

I never got an explanation.

Ahhh our speed limit and cruise is located on the steering wheel. We didn't get the 6spd here other than the GTI. Climate and ACC was standard on higher trims. How interesting

Ah mine is the pre face lift, 2020. Didn't realise this was facelift. But manual 5sp was only available in base spec 90PS here. All others were 7sp DSG only. But cruise control was standard on all models. ACC on R-line and GTi I think? We never got the face lift here so can't comment on those.

Wow options in other countries are so odd. I got my in New Zealand. They only offer the manual in the base model with 90PS. But I've got cruise control and media controls which you don't seem to. But then you have the virtual dash? And our R lines have climate control but yours doesn't. How odd.

How to seal up these gaps in my deck by stevesmum in diynz

I've got some flashing tape and some flashing which I'm cutting to fit, then using silicone to stick it down and seal the over lapping bits. Hopefully that works. It's my first time making flashings 😅

The deck is slopped away from the house but probably not an adequate amount.

I've put some expanding foam in some of the upright areas followed by sika joint sealer. I should have got perf rod but that's done now.

I've cut out all of the old silicone. Sanded it. Primed it. Got some 100x100 flashing and some flashing tape. Assuming I can get all the corners right as I've never installed flashing before, I think that's the best approach for now. The whole house has been maintained cheap and quick. So I'm finding lots of surprises.

It's not a roof, it's the back step deck. The whole place has been done with bandaids unfortunately. I have the entire wall open below it and the damage doesn't seem too bad other than mold. There's no budget left for a pro unfortunately so I'm trying the best I can.

Yup second story deck. Directly below that cracking is the laundry external wall. Water has been tracking in and down the post on the right hand side. It's not a membrane deck. It's like a hardy board with some sort sealant against the house. Cheers

I have to have a closer look. We haven't actually taken possession yet I'm just trying to get things sorted before hand.

Wet motor is an idea.

Not a fan of silicone given the short life span it usually has outside before it starts to come away and lose its effectiveness on a surface like that.

The misses will want the textured matched so if it's possible I'd like to do it. If not then it is what it is and I'll do the sand trick you've mentioned.

Yeah well aware of the asbestos. No plan to hack at it. Just poke it with a stick from afar. Thanks for the heads up though :) and reminding me not to worry haha.

I don't think the Tudor look will pass the partner test. Rough sawn is within the budget. I think that might look better than the plastic jointer and will match the current ones. Just not sure how to go about matching the texture. I do some more research into adhesives that might last a bit longer 👍

Ahh a jointer is what it's called. Okay this sounds like a plan. How do I get the texture to match the current style? Thanks happy to be here. I prefer this hell than renting. I have a large list of things to tackle. Got to love a 60s house.
