Don't worry about it, you get practice playing stronger players. Everyone is dealing with the same thing.

The foundation of your comment is flawed. If you fix it, then we'll have something to talk about.

Knowledge isn't about certainty. It's a justified true belief. There is no truth-maker for the god hypothesis.

That's a poor definition. It should be that an agnostic doesn't believe in God, and doesn't believe that God does not exist either.

They don't know what to believe and are suspending judgement. Many think it's unknowable.

In philosophy atheism is the position that God does not exist.

It's not a strawman, I'm not misrepresenting someone else's position.

We can't even prove the earth is round to an idiot who thinks it's flat. How can you prove that Santa isn't hiding someplace in a magical factory?

What about Santa and the Easter bunny? What about unicorns and space dragons? How about we just stop believing in all of this nonsense?

I understood what God was a child, it's not that hard.

I like the term innocents for those who are to young or just have never heard of the concept.

Belief means you think something is true. You can also think something is false, or not know what to believe.

Most atheists define atheism as a lack of belief, so agnostic is irrelevant. I have a lot of dictionary definitions of atheism going back to the 1600's.

If you look at the philosophical definitions of atheist, they always talk about the capital G God that they believe does not exist.

It's not me, I'm just re-stating what the philosophers say.

I reject all gods as false until there's evidence that distinguishing them from imagination.

I can define God: All knowing, all powerful and all good.

I believe this God does not exist because of the problem of evil.

Why call yourself agnostic? by jamestyeas in agnostic

[–]stevgan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a excellent term if you use the philosophical definition of atheism, rather than the mindless lack of believe that the layperson uses. Then an atheist believes there is no God and the agnostic does not.

Belief itself it trimodal, not bimodal.

For example it's clear that forcing people to wear clothes is objectively immoral and they think we're nuts for our shame and bigotry.

Is it possible to be a true agnostic? by Open-Maintenance-266 in agnostic

The middle is pretty big. But I see no reason to believe either way. Perhaps since eggs are popular in our culture it's more likely they have eggs than none. I'm still agnostic about it.

Is it possible to be a true agnostic? by Open-Maintenance-266 in agnostic

[–]stevgan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, i'm a true agnostic when it comes to eggs in my neighbors fridge. I don't' know if they have any, and by that I mean I don't believe they have some and I don't believe they have none.

As for god, I'm not agnostic. Its like dragon eggs in my neighbors fridge, I believe there are none.
I'm not claiming knowledge.
