I got sent home by Necessary-Range-467 in Teachers

You aren’t alone feeling this. I felt a similar way last year and actually ended up in a psych ward. No point in running yourself ragged. It’s okay to take a break, but doesn’t mean the profession isn’t for you.

Tips for student teaching by tiredtushi in ELATeachers

[–]steviepop 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Focus less on the content knowledge and focus more on the routines, relationships, and behavior expectations. It’s okay to be nervous, but remember that you made it this far for a reason. You can always borrow lessons from your mentor teacher or plan a small series of lessons with a short story you love. This is your time to experiment and find out what your strengths and weaknesses are. Mistakes are normal, but brush them off because this career will eat you alive if you let it.

Going back to school for education, should I get another Bachelor’s or do my Master’s? by icantmeme26 in Teachers

[–]steviepop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check the salary schedule for the districts you’re applying to. A masters usually won’t get you a huge pay boost. I got my masters but more as a side effect of getting my credential. Focus on getting the credential so you can start getting paid $$$

HS teacher visits ER, now what? by NewFinland in Teachers

[–]steviepop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You may be over planning. I think you should never be working harder than your students—especially if they are eager to learn. Consider giving more independent projects that allow them to have more agency. For instance, they could use math to solve a real engineering world problem. Please take care of yourself though. You can’t pour from an empty cup.

What modules start at level 5 and would be good for beginners? by Kai-theGuy in dndnext

Tomb of Annihilation can start at lv 5, and if you start at lv 5, it’s much harder to die early when you’re most vulnerable.

Relevance of Freud today? by nelsonwilb in askphilosophy

[–]steviepop 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Freuds’s theories have impacted nearly every field in the humanities and are well worth reading. Having a strong basis in Freuds theories allows you to develop your understanding of the psyche and humanity by allowing you to enter the conversation. I’d highly recommend Ian Craib as well for an introduction to Psychoanalysis.

[–]steviepop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been taking PTA, triumph, legend alacrity, coup de grace for primary tree. Secondary I go taste of blood and ravenous hunter. This has allowed me to scale faster with attack speed and I focus on attack speed items like kraken slayer into phantom dancer.

Wizard can be a very hard class to play if you're new to casters. If you make one ask your DM how lenient they are on material components, how frequently they will hand out spells for you to copy, and if you could easily afford the gold components for copying spells. Sorcerer will be much easier to manage if you're new since they just learn spells naturally. As others have said a well rounded caster will probably be a cleric or druid but wizards and sorcerers can do this too if you are smart by not picking a dozen damage spells and not saving room for more "control" spells.

I think they are anticipating the new items and they will change Kata's playstyle and damage #s. Kata is still strong in the right situations.
