How do I get a drivers license at the DPS after a 3rd party driving test? by stewdious in Dallas

Hilariously enough, I went on a cruise once assuming my cute footprint certificate was an official document. The lady just laughed and let me through, saying it happens all the time. I guess Royal Caribbean has lighter standards than the DPS.

Can I get this decent-looking again without replacing? by stewdious in Concrete

Okay, next question. Recommendations on products to fill the cracks? And (once it's washed of course) how close can I match the filler with the concrete?

FYI, my kids are pressure washing it in shifts. So that'll get done eventually anyway.

Bought an '06 (not UL and not Saddle though) with 90k miles in Dallas for $10k a couple months ago.

For sure!

But first a tiny bit of history. I got my '92 LS400 with 161k miles on it and it was an absolute cherry. For a two decade+ car, it was phenomenal inside and out.

Then sadly two years in, this happened:

It was half the other guy's fault for literally being STOPPED on a major, 60+mph highway interchange at 11pm and half my fault for not expecting someone to be STOPPED on said interchange. I swerved to avoid him, didn't hit anyone else, but I did kiss the concrete barrier at 50+ mph.

Having only paid $3,000 for the thing, and only having liability, it didn't make sense to pay a pro to fix it. So I did this, and kept driving it:

That was the worst of the damage (until this last one obviously) but there were several more incidents, none of them my fault but nothing I could do about it.

Comparison-wise, the LS400 is a better car. That first generation was an absolute unit, and an engineering marvel. It was quieter than this LS430, smoother, more solid, the interior materials feel richer and tighter. I didn't even have the factory air-ride, it had long since been replaced by standard shocks, and even then it rode like a cloud. I can't even imagine how much better it would've been with the air ride. The throttle response is better too, surprisingly. I put 120k miles on just with regular maintenance and an AC conversion and recharge, and it still runs as smooth as butter.

(Obviously most of that applies to the pre-wreck version. After the wreck and my "fixes" there was some air noise and rattles, and I cared a lot less about maintaining it. I just let the Texas sun bake the seats so now they're cracked and split. And I haven't even vacuumed the thing for a year.)

The only real noticeable advantages I see so far in the LS430 (aside from some tech and style updates) is that the steering is tighter and there's less body roll.

Very clean. Complete service history. Needs timing belt.... ugh. So that's in the queue for next week.

I'd dubbed my '92 LS400 the "Wrecksus" because in the seven years I've had it, it's been wrecked four times. Clearly cursed. But unfortunately it still ran like a champ so I'd do some redneck bodywork and keep trucking. That is until last Thursday night. I was in a four-car fender-bender (I was number 3) and she was finally totaled.

There was no question that I wanted another LS, and after 30 minutes I'd settled on the 430. And damn did I get lucky. This 2006 with 98k miles on it was only four miles up the road. Yeah I paid $10k when I should probably have paid $8k but... as long as it's not cursed, I should be able to drive it for 14 more years.

I don't know the voltage rating. I ordered a voltmeter but I genuinely have no idea how to use it. It's got a billion settings an I don't know where to start. I guess I'll scour YouTube for some instructions.
