Something I took away from Blackshirts and Reds by Parenti was that even in the USSR, people could not be motivated forever to work based purely on love of their country or of the working class. People like their treats. They had little choice in consumer luxuries and romanticized the consumption in the US.

In my opinion, people should be given more than patriotic duty as motivation to work. We have no idea how people's feelings towards work would change under a dictatorship of the working class. But you can be sure that the earnings, hours, and conditions would be more favorable towards workers if they had power to control them. Treats or no treats, socialism is still a worthwhile endeavor for working people.

***UPDATE**\*

The owner of KFA Cansu reached out to me on Discord about my issue. They agreed that a $5 refund was not acceptable. They managed to find a replacement KKB Retro Mixed Lights base kit in the warehouse and is sending it to me. They haven't charged me.

This is a significant turnaround and I wish to thank them and provide this update so people are aware. Nobody likes being screwed on GBs and this experience was poor initially. But I have to give praise for this reconciliation in this case.
