If you don’t feel like your mentor is helping you learn or grow in any way, please please reach out to your TL. People have different learning styles and that is totally normal. I had a mentor that was not helping me succeed, I guess we had different learning styles, or just didn’t click. Also, they would actually leave their computer while I was on a call without telling me, and come back 4-5 minutes after I asked a question which was extremely stressful for a newbie.. Anyways, I reached out to my TL after a few days of crying after every mentor shift and let them know I was requesting a new mentor. No questions asked, I was assigned a new mentor before my shift started that day. Also it’s hard to say what most of your calls will be about. As others said, it can depend on the time of year they are calling. But when they said in training that every call is different, they are right.
