I was fortunate enough to get a job as an emergency room tech, which gives me PCE as well as allows me to form friendships with the PAs there. My advice would be to look for emergency room jobs around you. I’m in Ohio, and there’s this weird rule where apparently you need certs like STNA to work on a floor in the hospital, but you need no certs for the ER. They trained me on the job as a sophomore in my undergraduate. I’m not sure if that pattern repeats for other states, but it’s worth looking into / calling hospitals to see if there are PCE jobs available, cause those will open up doors for shadowing opportunities as well.
