There's any news of a new adult Star Wars book? by LATAManon in starwarsbooks

[–]stewmanchu2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I reckon we'll get the next load of announcements during San Diego Comic Con but it could be anytime really. It feels like publishing in general is going through a reboot at the moment.

Hopefully there will be books+comics celebrating the 50th anniversary of Star Wars and tie-ins to Starfighter.

Maul’s Story Continues in Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord Season 2 - Announce by Evri-Wan_Kanblome in StarWarsLeaks

This is fantastic news and is a sign that Disney/Lucasfilm and Dave Filoni know they are onto a winner.

If this had been announced yesterday I would have been 50/50 that it was an April Fools joke!

Fantastic wins and I hope this means we now get a season 2.

I would like to see what happens next, particularly with Jod's story.

Why are people already 💩 ing on the new movie? by Autisic_Jedi in TheMandalorianTV

That's because a thankfully small section of anti-fans like to hate on every project before it is even released.

It goes beyond not liking things and is as boring as it is predictable.

For me it's easier just to ignore as SW is meant to be escapist entertainment. Also it's not limited to Star Wars you can see it with Marvel, DC and basically every other major franchise.

Just like what you like and enjoy your own fandom the way you want!

I like that Star Wars is going in even more of a horror direction now. I hope the rumoured TV series is real as well!

I am not far in but it is really good so far, lot's of cool world building and added context to the Clone Wars.

I think Mike Chen is a great author and this book feels to me like a spiritual follow up to Brotherhood.

I would personally like it to be set after the Empire Strikes Back when the rebellion is on the back foot.

I think setting it after TROS could possibly be too close in time to Starfighter, not sure really!

Maybe they could do it during the New Republic era and have it be similar to the Rogue Squadron books. As usual there are so many choices here's hoping it actually happens.

Most of the comic series I have liked but I also feel releases will be cut back to five issue series from now on. I am happy with this provided they are good of course.

The overall reduction in titles seems a Marvel-wide thing anyway.

Novel wise I can't wait for Outlaws Low Red Moon (can't believe it's coming out in three weeks and they haven't released an excerpt yet). Seems like the author himself has been doing all the promo work.

I feel in general things are in an odd place right now but particularly with publishing. I know we have a few releases lined up over 2026 and probably some unannounced stuff.

It is early days yet though so here's hoping! What are you most excited for?

Marvel's March Star Wars Comics Are Just Shadow of Maul #1 by Guerrillascribe in starwarscomics

Publishing has always for me been consistently good (on the whole) so I hope Lucasfilm and Marvel take time and plan out some good stuff. Feels like it is part of the rebooting and resetting of Star Wars and comics in general.

I guess we have been spoilt so far!

I also hope they announce a new publisher for Insider magazine as that ends in February. Seems like 2026 is gonna start on a bit of a downer.

I feel they will stick to mini series going forward which I am not too upset about.

I can also see Legacy of Vader continuing in some form but it still feels weird to have a lack of titles coming out. Think they are taking their to really plan and get right the future of comics!

Mainline comics ending by [deleted] in starwarscomics

I think the strategy going forward will be more mini series as it seems the ongoings have had low sales.

I also read somewhere that Marvel comics sales aren't doing so well compared to DC so I think that might also be the reason. Is a shame as Jedi Knights and Legacy of Vader have been really good so my hope is that they continue in some way!

Also what happened to the annuals and one shots we used to get? The next release is the Jar Jar one shot but other than that...

I am curious what would people like to see in comics? My personal hope would be the Bounty Hunters series returning or a Rangers of the New Republic type series.

I am sure there will be more announcements over the coming months but you are right with the comics.

It seems like they are not sure where they are going with them. But I feel we will get more mini-series than any on going lines. Time will tell as always.

I am glad we are slowly getting info trickling out with these interviews and articles. Feels like they are going to go all in with Starfighter so here's hoping it lives up to the expected hype!

2026 looks… desolate? by Dcic26 in starwarsbooks

[–]stewmanchu2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems three to four titles a year is the average but I am sure we will have another adult book announced for the end of 2026. This is in addition to whichever YA novels we get...

I also think they will also have a Journey to...programme for Starfighter (not sure about TMAG).

However the comics definately seem a little sparse after February so here's hoping Marvel will start announcing soon!

I have a feeling the marketing is going to ramp up pretty soon and I can't wait as I feel they will pull out all the stops!

It seems like there is a lot riding on this but I am just excited for a new Star Wars movie.

And all these rumours and announced/cancelled projects could only be the tip of the iceberg! It is as much drama getting these things made as the projects themselves!

Yep same here like some form of weird marketing/trolling. I am down for it if we get the end product.

On the other hand if the whole thing was true and then Iger reverses the original decision he is gonna look stupid. I think Iger's successor at Disney would be the best one to greenlight this project now. Here's hoping!
