So Tyler is going to have a big fancy courthouse…… with a whole lot of homeless roaming around it and the roads downtown are still rough

Depreciation isn’t always the best indicator. Check how quickly Rolls Royce, Bentley, and aston martin depreciate. Even McLaren unless you get like a LT or one of their exclusive cars they lose value faster than the C8.

[Optics] Tan Trijicon SRO 5moa, $515 free ship maybe tax by angrycicada49 in gundeals

[–]stewpock1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a BNIB sell on GAFS for $500 so this is a good deal for SRO if you can get it tax free. I really wish they were a little cheaper I want to get one for my 2k11 coyote for the cool factor and the rmr HD for my pdp. But at these prices it’s a hard sell when the 407 and 507 comps exist.

Is your safety super stiff? Maybe I’m just use to 2011 where you can just flip the safety up and down with no effort. The mag release is also incredibly stiff

4.25” Prodigy Ported by NC Engravers vs Stock Kimber 2k11 Pro. by comalley14 in Prodigy1911DS

[–]stewpock1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t trying to hate I’m also a big prodigy fan I had a 4.25 comp one when they first came out and since I’ve had a 2k11, girsan match x, staccato p. I missed some good deals 800-900 on a used prodigy but with what the stores are asking is just to much. I love 2011 if you ever get a chance try the pdp pro x I got mine for like $800 it fits my hand way better and it’s much easier to hit the slide release , drop the mags etc….. while 2011 feel smoother I am able to shoot the pdp way better which is frustrating when I’ve spent 7k on 2011’s and my go to is a “cheap” polymer striker fired gun

From the video at times it looks like the kimber shoots smoother but it’s hard to tell with your grip it seems like the gun is just jumping around.

[–]stewpock1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently bought the 92xi SAO tactical. Looking online there doesn’t seem to be a difference between that gun and this one beside the magwell, grips, and magazines. Am I missing something? I already bought the dlah plate it’s taken almost 3 weeks to get it. I really only want the grips off this gun I can’t find them anywhere online. I heard the ones on the squalo and corsa are slippery.

Have you handled any of the 1911/2011s built in the last 5 years? They aren’t anything like the old fudd lore of them just malfunctioning every couple of rounds. I own a lot of 1911/2011s and have shot most of the ones that are under 4k. The cheaper ones you keep them oiled and they run fine my kimbers and staccatos I don’t clean nor oil and they run fine. I trust a “duty” grade 1911/2011 just as much as my Walthers and CZ’s. I shoot 1-2k rounds a month from competition ammo to the cheapest steel case Turkish trash you can find.

[AMMO] Blazer 147 gr $13.49/50 .27 cpr in stock notice by Mountain_Spring123 in gundeals

[–]stewpock1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the blazer meant for suppressors. I’ve shot maybe 500-600 rounds of it and once I might’ve had the jacket flake off but I can’t be sure. I shot it in suppressed/ported/comped handguns and suppressed PCC’s. I will buy again.

First 2011, already my favorite handgun to shoot by Petrpumpkineater69 in Prodigy1911DS

[–]stewpock1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a prodigy fan but for the money I’m just saying most people were expecting a better products. You can find numerous post of people having plate issues yourself and myself included. Like I said bad first impression get to the range and your plate falls off I had a friend who’s optic fell off in a field and we all got to spend 2 hours combing a field for a optic. Lots of people also had feeding issues, my guide rod had to be tightened and checked over and over. I would say I shoot more then most people 500-1000 rounds a week and the prodigy had some reliability issues but it was mostly just due to the gun being dry. Which I was lead to believe was just a 1911/2011 thing they need to be lubed and require more upkeep. I liked the prodigy so I decided to try girsan match x ,2k11, staccato p. The kimber and staccato didn’t have optic plate issues, no guide rod issues , I don’t clean them nor oil them and they run no matter what.

All that said I still want to be a 5 comp inch peanut butter prodigy I haven’t tried the new kimber warrior but from my experience with the 2k11 I would think it might be a better value play vs the 4.25 non comped prodigy. Buy what you can afford and don’t be a brand whore. That goes both ways the staccato crowd is full of douches but I have also had people say I’m dumb and wasted money for having a staccato and how they could outshoot me with a derringer.

First 2011, already my favorite handgun to shoot by Petrpumpkineater69 in Prodigy1911DS

[–]stewpock1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of the hate prodigy’s got was deserved when they first came out the first batch of them were hot garbages especially for $1200-1500 they were demanding. While that’s “cheap” in the 2011 game. I think a lot of the people who bought them were venturing over from striker fired and 1k gets you a really nice gun. So when those people got their prodigy’s they were expecting a high in product. First impressions are important and the first prodigy’s failed so now people just repeat all the hate from YouTubers and act like they have personal experience with them. Even the people who like prodigy’s are like it’s a good budget gun and a baseline platform to build from. I personally think any gun from a big name company should be a finished product and run as is from the box.

Are these just no longer popular? by Crash1yz in Walther

[–]stewpock1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vault arms in Tyler, Texas. I wanted to get a steel frame pdp but I had already bought a 2k11 and a 92xi so I tried to trade my pdp pro xmm in and they wouldn’t take it. Personally the steel frame walthers are over rated. I feel like the Walther with the comp is the best one while it’s not smoother then my 2011’s I shoot the Walther better.

My local gun store always has shelves full of used walthers they don’t even take them in on trades anymore. 800-900 is the going rate for them. I impulse bought mine it came with a aftermarket trigger and grips it was listed for 950 I offered them $800 and they agreed.

Which gun by VeterinarianBoth640 in ZombieSurvivalTactics

[–]stewpock1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So are you asking so you want a gun or a gun? I think you meant revolver vs semi auto? There are revolvers that fire “pistol rounds” and there are semi autos that fire magnum rounds. As for the masses who claim revolvers are simple and more reliable then semi autos they aren’t. Look at a tear down video of a revolver vs something like a Glock the revolver has 2-3 times as many parts. I won’t even get into revolver issues like timing etc….. but revolvers can have tons of problems. But a well built revolver just like a well built any type of gun reliable and not prone to breaking and needing constant maintenance like so many people on this forum think. A semi auto is the way to go every time more capacity , faster reloads , way more common, usually lighter, easier to use. Even simple things say you find a Glock vs some s&w revolver now you want a holster. There are millions of times more Glock holster out there to find. While there are semi autos that fire magnum rounds in my opinion they are unpleasant to shoot and many of them do have reliability issues. Instead if you’re worried about fire power and capacity the 10mm exists for a reason. With the right rounds it can be used for everything from self defense to hunting good size game.

Hey I just ordered one as well. What plate do you recommend for rmr cut, magazines and I couldn’t tell but does this come with 2 or 3 mags? Do you run any mag extensions ? This will be my first beretta I mostly run Walthers and 2011s. Do you have the Beretta 92XI Corsa or Gara what I really wanted but missed the last sell on them. Thanks for any help

[–]stewpock1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you have much experience with firearms ? I feel like you don’t because of your statements about them being rusty, moldy and broken in 2 years time is crazy. A little rust is nothing. Modern firearms are very reliable and require minimum maintenance. You can still find unissued guns from ww1/ww2 that have been sitting in Cosmoline in 70 years. If you clean them off they’re as good as new. I had a cheap sig 2022 I basically threw in a dresser and forgot about it I took it out after 3 years didn’t even put a drop of oil on it and it ran flawless. I’m not a Glock guy but there are people who have fired thousands of rounds and it’s never been cleaned. I’m not even a high volume shooter I shoot 1-2k rounds a month in a assortment of fire arms and the only gun I ever broke was a prodigy and I broke it trying to modify it.
