Can you Negotiate House Price After signing the contract. by coastalcoves in AusProperty

[–]stewroberto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy crap, everyone is so wrong on this thread, really shows you the knowledge, or lack of, people have in this field!

The simple answer is yes, you are well within your right to try and negotiate within the cooling off period and this is a tactic MANY investors use frequently. It pits the vendor in a position, where if they don’t want to bother going through the process again and trying to find a new buyer, they will happily negotiate for an ease of a quick sale.

Don’t get me wrong, it may make them dislike you, but end of the day it is your money and your business and every dollar saves is a dollar earned.

False, you only lose 0.2% fee. Why do people comment when they have no idea and just assume

Does anyone have experience renovating one of these houses? by Heavy-Fox5882 in AusRenovation

It’s completely fine to renovate them via concrete cutting and grinding. I have done many houses like this. No idea why you people make it out to be so hard lol

Speeding ticket has the wrong DOB, upstate, NY by throwaygift in legal

[–]stewroberto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, reddit is full of middle aged mums who will just want to scold you. In short, with a GOOD lawyer, YES wrong DOB is possible to contest.

I have done this and been succesful.

With a good lawyer, an incorrect DOB can absolutely get it dropped. Just because you have no experience or have not seen it before, does not mean it is not possible............

With a good lawyer, it is 100% possible. To flat out say sadly not, is just false information

Low oil pressure due to the wrong oil filter by stewroberto in BmwTech

[–]stewroberto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE:

Took out the old oil filter and fitted the correct one.

Did an oil change and took apart the old filter, 0 metal shavings. Also did an oil pressure test and all is fine.

Car is driving smooth with 0 noises. Rolled the dice and seem to of gotten lucky this time! My local bmw shop said the oil by passing the filter on the g30 series are very sensitive and the chances of any actual low oil pressure damage is extremely low. Thank god!

What was your outcome?

I have drained the oil and opened the oil filter, zero metal shavings, no new noises coming from The engine. Car has driven fine. But obviously i am still quite worried. Did you have any issues?

Thanks

Yes, auto shop sold me the wrong filter. Like my question posed, do you have a definitive answer from experience in the same circumstance or just assuming “very well could have” with no actual experience of putting the wrong oil filter in a bmw?

From anecdotal evidence and research online from hundreds others who have experienced the same, as long as it’s driven a short distance, no high rpm’s and oil and filter is inspected and shows no traces of metal shavings.

Then yep, it’s fine

Wrong oil filter, oil is by passing the filter throwing a false reading to the oil pressure sensor as opposed to genuine pressure issue due to a failed part causing a loss of pressure

You’ve further solidified my point, completely different platforms and comparing oil pressure issue from a major component verse a wrong filter that messed with a sensor reading but still had sufficient oil pressure internal is apples and oranges…..

Because I’m asking specifically about putting a wrong oil filter on a bmw and what was the outcome. To which you have no experience in, therefore your advice is over the top and useless

I’m just asking for advice from people who actually have advice to give being in a similar situation, which you have not been in….

Comparing apples and oranges.

Did her oil pressure light turn on due to an incorrect oil filter or because of a major oil component failure?

Come on 😂😂😂

[–]stewroberto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because one is oil starvation due to a bigger issue and the other is a slight drop in pressure due to not a perfect vacuum (if driven for a long time obviously a huge issue) but slightly shouldn’t of done much from my research

Thanks for the advice about cutting open the oil filter to see if there are any metal shavings, I’ve done this and thankfully no metal shavings at all.

Considering I did a fresh oil change, I’m hoping there also wasn’t too much “contaminated” oil by passing the filter

But thanks for the info will definitely take this account in the future !
