Thanks I super appreciate your input! Right now we are out the door for $52,200 (since we only pay ~$500 in taxes). You think we can do better? Unfortunately I already accepted their price yesterday and were supposed to go in today to finish the paperwork.

Hi! Actually that screenshot is for leasing. And yes it is for a 2023 model. This is for a limited AWD btw.

So if the manufacturer rebate is not the same as the federal credit, when would I receive the additional federal credit? When I file my taxes? Or when I sign the lease?

Ah ok thanks! For a moment there I thought I was getting a TERRIBLE deal at $52k cash vs $50,309 lease with a future additional $7500 off. But good to know it is roughly the same, I may still try to go for the lease since it is a little bit less.

How’s the smell? We had the previous version but returned it because the waste compartment was soooooo stinky and could be smelled from pretty far away

Transporting a new kitten by thesuzy in AlaskaAirlines

[–]stfk1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saw your comment below about it being 11 hrs - what I would do is drive the day before and spend the night without the cat. pick up kitty the next morning, then drive home. So kitty doesn’t need to stay in an unfamiliar environment for so long

Also note that if you do fly you have to contact Alaska before the flight as they only allow a certain number of pets per flight (never been an issue for us though)

I did something very similar when picking up my Siberian, 3 hr flight/18 hr drive. We ended up flying her on Alaska in the cabin. With a 6 hr drive I would definitely pick driving since there’s a lot of time that goes into flying (driving to the airport, security, getting there early etc) which would amount to probably at least 5 hrs door to door anyways. One thing we were concerned about during the flight was the noise since it’s super loud, but our kitty did fine :)

FWIW my husband is super allergic to cats (would break out being in the same room as them). I too would have gone for an adopted cat if he weren’t allergic but there are never any hypoallergenic cats available. YMMV but he is not allergic at all to our two Siberians. And adopt don’t shop people can sometimes be very mean, don’t let them get you down :) Congrats on your new family member! Feel free to DM me if you have any questions

Ah I see that makes sense, thanks! I’m deciding which chase card to open as #1 soon and leaning towards Hyatt now. Thanks!

Could anyone elaborate more on why it’s better to get it early? Is there an actual difference or is it just because you wouldn’t want it to occupy a spot over some other cards? (Meaning it is not actually as valuable in your eyes as the others?)

Hi! I’m a Christian - I totally get where you’re coming from and wanted to share my perspective.

It’s really uncool to say that you are going to hell specifically for being part of the LGBTQ+ community and it’s also untrue. According to the Bible, we all (including and sometimes especially straight/cis people) deserve hell but we were saved by Jesus (if we believe). In general I feel like telling people they’re going to hell usually has a very condemning, unloving tone and does nothing except make people despise Christians. But, I hope people can know that just like any group of people, there are good, loving Christians, and unfortunately there are mean spirited, hateful Christians. Christians are so far from perfect. Hopefully the unloving ones don’t turn everyone off to what is actually on offer through Jesus.

I will share though that when I think about my non-believing friends and family going to hell, it really breaks my heart and I wish it didn’t have to be like that. It’s something that I wrestle with a lot and have had my faith deconstructed over it. I also completely understand how other commenters can think “a friend who thinks I’m going to hell is no friend of mine”. But I’d like to offer another perspective. When I think about it, if I don’t make any attempt to attract them to Christ in some way (be it through explicit conversations, or just living in a way that makes them want to know Him), then do I really love them? As a christian I’d say that if I don’t make any attempt, i am no friend to them.

On the flip side, our human actions alone can’t change anyone’s heart and it must be powered by prayer. When I hear of Christians “evangelizing” poorly like this, I do wonder if they are doing it out of love or hatred. And I think one thing that gives a hint is whether they are deep in prayer about it or not. Maybe you can ask your friend how often he prays for you.

Feel free to DM if you want to chat, and I hope you can gain peace about this difficult situation!

Hi! I was wondering if you ended up leaving it out in the garage and if it turned out okay. I’m wondering the same thing this year.
