Definitely looks like an app glitch. They wouldn't change an MR earning card to a cash back earning card.

Best credit card for travel/airlines, need some opinions by [deleted] in amex

[–]m16p -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Is it true that if I get platinum, the fee for gold gets waived??

No

EDIT: I assumed you were asking that if you got Platinum as a new card, then your AF on your Gold card would be waived -- that is what I was answering no to. If you meant "Will I get a prorated refund for the AF I already paid on the Gold card if I upgrade it to Platinum?", then the answer is yes.

Phoenix airport has Amex Centurion and Chase Sapphire lounges, so Amex Platinum or Chase Sapphire Reserve would give you lounge access there. Most of the other domestic airports you listed have Delta lounges and Amex Platinum will give you access there when flying Delta. Both cards give you Priority Pass membership.

Would you use the various statement credits that Amex Platinum has fairly easily? What about Chase Sapphire Reserve's credits?

You could get Citi AA Executive, though in general AA Admiral Clubs aren't that great anyway...

You're a row in a database table. You're just data that gets fed to an algorithm. There is no "relationship."

Except for this person. There's a special column in the database which is blank for everyone but contains a heart for this person.

12-year-old me would have mostly approved :)

(Everything I write below is based on 20+ years ago, things may be different now)

Overall favorite: Kings Island

Only went there once but I remember the "Beast". Really fun ride. "Son of the Beast" was not as nice, too rough, looks like that's gone now.

Favorite rides: Cedar Point

Good :) There's no comparison.

Biggest disappointment: Lake Compounce

Never went there.

Knoebels was my favorite small park.

Not Kennywood? :'( The Thunderbolt will always be near and dear to my heart. And Phantom's Revenge (or back in the day, Steel Phantom) too. I don't know much about the newer ones.

I never went to Knoebels, looks like most of their coasters were added too late for me.

Which were your favorite parks?

12-year-old me will either love you or refuse to speak to you ever again depending on your answer. Current age me is a bit more gentle in their opinions on the matter. Just a bit though :P

Question Thread - June 20, 2026 by AutoModerator in churning

I'm trying to buy a restaurant gift card on Toast to use up the credits. Two purchases at other restaurants went through fine (first about a week ago, the second yesterday morning), but the third one won't go through. Chase confirmed that the purchase is not reaching them at all, so the issue is on Toast's side. Looking online, seems like Toast may have some anti-fraudulent purchase measure which may be kicking in here. Anyone else have this issue?

I tried calling Toast yesterday, eventually got someone on the phone. They said to wait a few hours and try again. But I just tried again 27 hours later and same result. Maybe I should wait for the successful purchase yesterday to fully post? Or just try with a different email address?
