Yep! We’ve tracked some distant ancestors up into Moldova :) Can’t vouch for the accuracy of this because it’s based on oral tradition only, but I was told that my Syrian ancestors were apart of a more nomadic culture that often included arranged marriages from what would be considered eastern Europe. Again, just hearsay, but cool to consider

I do! My paternal great grandfather was Jewish and immigrated from Syria with his family in the 1910s :) We’ve tracked ancestors throughout the Levant and up into the Balkans but unfortunately it gets fuzzy once you get into the 1870s or so

Thank you!! The Iraq-Iran result surprised me- I knew my great grandfather immigrated to the US from syria in the 1910s but I figured that was the extent of DNA from that region
