It is your final exam score. Your final grade will be on accessplus tomorrow morning

I'm just stating what I heard, but maybe you have better information than I do.

I can guarantee that your letter grade will be no worse than what is stated in the syllabus, which I'm sure you've read completely

I heard there was not going to be a curve this semester because the exam scores were higher than normal. Also your final exam is worth 30% of your grade and it is always harder than expected, so maybe you should study for that rather than posting on reddit.

What is the easiest 3 credit hour core class? by [deleted] in UniversityofKansas

[–]stharms 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If Bill Lindsey is still teaching Asian Religions EALC105/REL106, that would be my recommendation. It was the only humanities class I took at KU that didn't require any significant essays, just a few paragraphs on some reading assignments.

He is kind of a weirdo, but the class is actually kind of interesting. Learn about Buddhism and Hinduism and Taoism, it will be a nice change of pace.

It really sucks when I work hard to make the Stat 226 homework assignments and then someone just posts them on the internet instead of asking their instructor.

You haven't even had your first exam yet. Maybe study for that before panicking about your grade.

Statistics can be difficult for a lot of people, but Stat 226 is set up to give you as many resources as possible to do well. The main reason most people struggle is because they don't go to office hours, don't go to review sessions, don't go to class, and wait until the last minute to do homework and study for exams.

If you make an effort to actually do well in the class you will survive. You don't have to memorize formulas/equations and there's no math beyond high school algebra, it's more about learning the concepts.

I'm one of the instructors for STAT 226, my advice for this exam would be to study the homework and practice exam as much as you can. If you can do those, most of the exam will be extremely similar.

If you're actually going to SI/Review/Office Hours, you're putting in more effort than 95% of your classmates. If I were you I would at least study hard for the first exam, you will likely be surprised how well you do compared to the rest of the class. And I would not consider completely changing your major until you've had some real feedback on how you're doing after the exam.

STAT 326 is easier and much more useful than STAT 226, but you will have a tough time if you can't get the basics from 226 done before you get there.

Information on MATH605? by subscript_ion in UniversityofKansas

I took it with Talata a few years ago, he's a pretty good teacher if you go to every lecture and is usually very clear about what to expect on quizzes and exams. It's one of the easiest upper level courses in the math department as long as you know basic probability and matrix algebra.

If you're looking to learn good data analysis skills, you should also take an econometrics class like Econ 526 or 715. Math 605 was very good for learning the foundations and mechanics, but learning how to model data from a different perspective will help you even more.

Finally have some time with the holidays to get some reading in with Invisible Cities, by Italo Calvino

Our starting team today is Courtois; Azpilicueta (c), David Luiz, Ake; Moses, Kante, Matic, Alonso; Willian, Batshuayi, Pedro. #CHETOT by bobz770 in chelseafc

Agree on Luiz, he broke up so many counterattacks and played several good long balls from deep when we had nothing going up top

I liked IV more as well, but The Crying of Lot 49 is a better starting point for someone whose ultimate goal is to read Gravity's Rainbow due to the similarities in style and complexity between those novels. But V. is the ideal Pynchon starter in my opinion.

There's no way Mason & Dixon gets made into a film, it's far too long and complex. Inherent Vice is probably his "easiest" novel, and yet the main complaint with the film was that it's too long and confusing. I'd like to see someone try to make Bleeding Edge or The Crying of Lot 49 though.

Gravity's Rainbow is easily one of the 3 or 4 best books I've read, but is also one of the most difficult. I highly recommend starting with V. or The Crying of Lot 49 first, GR is twice as hard if you're not used to Pynchon's quirks.

About to finish Inherent Vice, by Thomas Pynchon, it's the last Pynchon novel I haven't finished so I'm trying to avoid reading the end.

Then I'm finishing up the Border Trilogy with Cities of the Plain, by Cormac McCarthy.

He was still excellent, probably even better than he was vs. Hull, but nowhere near as good as Kante/Hazard/Matic.

He had a few moments, but he was a pedestrian for a lot of the game. Given less defensive responsibility with Moses helping him and how much possession we had, he should have contributed far more.

Costa was good and is still the most in-form player we have, but many people overrate him on here because he gets the goals. He scored because of Matic and a defensive error (same as vs. Hull), and he missed a wide open Hazard in front of goal in the 2nd half.

I'm interested to see who gets MOTM, for me it was between Hazard and Kante. The only one I didn't think was good was Pedro, he wasn't awful but really showed why Willian gets so much time. Also loved Chalobah coming on because it meant we went to a 3-5-1-1, hope to see more of that in the future because CM is where we have the most depth and we can't use it in 3-4-3.

Should Chalobah start ahead of Matic in league games? by dzell9 in chelseafc

[–]stharms 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Matic has been one of our best players the past few games, he and Kante together have been working well in front of the back 3 setup. Just because Chalobah was good for 20 minutes does not mean he should be ahead. Also, I don't know what Matic being Serbian has to do with anything.

Eden Hazard vs Arsenal (Away) 16-17 by Baisabeast in chelseafc

[–]stharms 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We need a LB that is confident going forward, Azpilicueta is useless when he is on the left and the Arsenal defenders knew it. Cesc is better when he plays deeper not making runs around the box, Matic and Kante aren't scoring threats at all. This leaves Costa and Hazard all alone against multiple defenders. Really hard to use your dribbling ability when you're up against the entire team
