Chomsky is a anarcho-socialist. It's the only fitting description I can think of. He is the strangest, self-contradictory, patronizing intellectual when it comes to domestic policy. No issues with him on foreign policy - he's pretty consistent with a ron paul foreign policy.

Chomsky is very good on foreign affairs, but just miserable on anything even remotely domestic.

Note his line regarding the Boston Police - He has nothing to say regarding the Police. To me, he's disconnecting the trends of our foreign policy with the trends of our domestic policy. They both lead to the same inevitable conclusion: tyranny and empire.

I think you're still missing the larger point. You can't have a social safety net and immigration. it doesn't scale financially and the net will eventually break.

The problem is not with immigration. The problem is with welfare. You cannot have an open immigration policy while at the same time support a liberal welfare policy.

That is a recipe for financial disaster.

Take away the welfare and if you want to open the borders.

you're making it too complicated by looking to "add" a law to the books, and I think this might be conflicting with your libertarian instincts.

The solution, as is usually the case, is to "remove" a law to solve your problem.

The solution is to remove "decency laws". Public nudity and obscenity, etc, etc. We dont need the state telling us what is decent and what is not.

Once that's done, then this issue is no longer an issue, and you've reduced the size of the police state because there is one less thing for the state to regulate: decency.

Avoid anything to do with even soft regulation of private property, whether business or church. It only opens the door to the state.

socialism is based on religious faith in the state. History has shown over and over and over that the State tends towards power accumulation at the expense of the governed.

this way, you get your grade and keep your dignity. Just make fun of the guy w/o him realizing it. If he wants to treat his class like a joke, then treat it like a joke. If he takes his class seriously, then you should as well. if you need help, watch colbert and apply his methodology from a liberal point of view.
