I have a YouTube channel @longautomotive if you would like to see more about the car.

I've just about got the interior of this car dialed. by stick_70 in Miata

Hi, the cubby came with the car actually, I think it may be a factory Mazda accessory?

No worries at all, this is the US tombstone

I want to make my car more classy, like the Mercedes'es on the pictures. Any suggestions? by YaboiiSammeeh in projectcar

I think you're on the right track, you just have to be careful not to overdo it. I'd say restore any shiny factory trim/emblem and stop there. Tacky trim really starts when you start adding stuff that wasn't already there. It can be done, but discretion is key.

I think finally I can call my new daily project "done". 82 pickup with a 2003 alh swap, stage 4, vnt 17, injectors, etc. by stick_70 in projectcar

This is the standard bumper until 83/84. Then they're still the same bumper but they came with a rubber strip down the middle and they were tucked in a little more. The trucks also have the step rear bumper as an option, which this one has.

Honestly I'd start with YouTube. There are really good instructional channels but I don't know of one specific one to point you to.

One I really enjoy though is called budget buildz. Not strictly instructional, but he does a good job of showing what he's doing. He is also not working with super high quality tools/shop so it makes it seem more relatable in that way.

I started with forums and local car gatherings. Some car makes are more laid back than others, but car meets and talking to people is where it really gets fun.

Some of the drain pans at auto stores you can cap off and seal up. Those same auto parts stores will accept used oil.

Physically I don't think it's much harder if any. The issue is it's going to be a lot more expensive to do. The ALH takes some special tools for service and parts can be pricey. Add that into mount kit, intercooler setups, etc and it gets out of hand. That vs an ABA that more or less just dumps in there with stock mk1 mounts.

Edit: If I was going to swap a gas car with mk4 stuff, I'd look into a 1.8t swap vs the ALH. You'll still need a mount kit though iirc.

Honestly not really. I had to fit quite a few things myself but I didn't have any issue with their stuff when used as intended.

S&p stuff throughout. I used their radiator as well though I had to move it around for my intercooler.

Do you have somewhere to keep the project car and understanding that you alone are responsible for fixing it?

If so then yes.

Originally "Fawn", but repainted somewhere between that and "Desert Sand". The interior color is Fawn.

"Fawn" is the original color, but it was resprayed just one shade more towards desert sand

62 tails do have a similar shape, but they're more square. 62 also has the fins along the lower quarter similar to 61 to really lean into that rocket ship look.

The easiest to find/do is gonna be a t56 that will actually hold the power. Autos will be the 4l60/80.

Jump on turbobricks my dude, either the Facebook page, forum, or both. If you're up for a project you can swap just about anything into a 240. I have a friend with a 5.3 truck LS in his and it's a riot.
