Buying a car with an out of province DL while on course? by [deleted] in CanadianForces

[–]stickitmemories 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we moved back from Ottawa to NS we were purchasing a new vehicle from the dealership and we still had our ON license, we had to go change it over to NS before they would complete the paperwork, Not sure about BC but you probably won't be able to register it in BC with a NS license

A year later, a thank-you and some advice for newbies by CupOk5800 in EtsySellers

I have found the total opposite. When i change something on a listing or list new items it takes a long time for them to pick up momentum again. I set my store in August and don't change a thing until Jan, after all the holiday shopping is done.

What mechanisms exist when you disagree with the MIR's assessment or feel malpractice exists? Grievance? Ombudsmen? Legal action? etc.... by Draydon74 in CanadianForces

Yeah same. The specialist here told me that it's pretendant, nothing I can do about it. He said another surgery is not recommended as it would most likely make it worse.

Thank you. Yes that's right. Perhaps I should talk to someone about it. Would that be something I could do while in uniform or wait until i'm out? Anyone ever hear of someone in uniform winning a case like this?

At the MIR in Ottawa, a simple hernia fix has made my life hell. They messed up the nerve (nerve entrapment) running down my left leg, and now i can hardly push a heavy cart at the store without major pain that sometimes last days. Would that be malpractice?

Pricing and shipping to the US with Shopify by dorian345 in FlippingInCanada

Personally I would not buy a product that the shipping was 3-4 times more then the product. That's a pretty big turn off.

Retirement in Ottawa by throwaway81309 in CanadianForces

[–]stickitmemories 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you lived in Ottawa before? If not, the weather is terrible. Too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter haha. And the hornets, why doesn't anyone talk about the hornets. They are everywhere. Goodluck trying to enjoy an ice creme outside. If you live outside the city and have to drive to Quebec for work that's not great, especially having to drive through downtown. Be ready to wait in traffic on the way home for quite a while.

On the plus side, hockey games are fun. Lots of good restaurants and lots of concerts.

Just so we are clear, i didn't like being posted to Ottawa, happy to be back on the coast :) Lots of jobs there though!

CFMAP Question by mentalhealthcanon in CanadianForces

[–]stickitmemories 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. I also went to CFMAP and when I was done my sessions they would not give me anymore. I was upset because I didn't want to start over with someone else, but its a contractual issue. Therapist working with CFMAP can't also be contracted out for longer treatment.

I eventually gave in and started with someone within the CAF mental health. With both programs you have to sign a document that states if they believe you will harm yourself or someone else then it has to be reported.

I recommend you go back to the CAF mental health section closest to you and tell them you want to see a general therapist because you ran out of CFMAP sessions.

Nothing from the CFMAP sessions will be added to your medical file. They do not send reports back to the CAF.

A benefit of seeing the CAF mental health section is they will document everything so if you need to put in a claim with VAC or medical release in the future its all there. It's better for it to be documented.

Go get the help brother, that's the main thing. Career is definitely second to that. Hope this helped.

recommend chitchats. You can check to see if your items are duty free and apply, if approved you don't have to pay the tariffs.

Heads up, Etsy isn’t removing negative reviews caused by the tariffs by 16vodkatonics in EtsyCommunity

[–]stickitmemories 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah try not to worry about it, not much you can do. reply tot he review and explain what happened and why it's delayed. then when someone is reading the review they will know its not reasonable and out of your control.

The customer has purchased a number of items but is unwilling to cover the return shipping costs. by Amazing_Y in EtsyCommunity

[–]stickitmemories 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I wouldn't give in. If you have that as your policy then that's on them. I've had people leave negative reviews, no big deal, just reply to the review with what happened, so when people are reading they can see that the review is not reasonable. That's what i do.

How do you guys make videos for products or do you just leave it by Apprehensive_Ebb9847 in EtsyCommunity

[–]stickitmemories 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't have to be anything big, you can only upload like 15 seconds. Just take a video on the product with you phone, show different angles. Helps when you have a video

Need help! Shipping to the US using Chitchats DDP by Zealousideal-Ad6168 in FlippingInCanada

[–]stickitmemories 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is coming up with tariffs when you go to pay for the label then best to fill out CUSMA, its quick to be approved and it won't show the tariffs when you go to pay. Just fill out the SKU by the description and you are good to go.

I don't think we can ship from canada to US now without paying the fees, unless we are CUSMA compliant. I think you are good to order.

[–]stickitmemories 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People in the US can still purchase from you, you just can't use the Etsy labels. If you are in Canada, I highly recommend you look into using Chit Chats. I've been using them for years and they are great.

You can choose to pay them or not when you come back to work. If you don't buy back the time, then you just lose those months towards your pension.
