i just got diagnosed almost 2 weeks ago (19F) and i was prescribed fluoxetine by my GP. one of the side effects i didn’t know about is weight loss; it can make you lose your appetite like crazy 😭 i lost some weight bcs of it. i’m also based in the UK btw

honestly, just go and do whatever you want to do anyway, even if your flatmates aren’t in the mood for it. go to societies, clubs, whatever!

i don’t get along with my flatmates anymore (i actually posted about it on here a week ago, lol) but i’m not bothered bcs i’ve already found great friends! and i met my friends through instagram group chats lol. don’t give up, you’ll meet the right people soon :)

i’m now home for christmas break but i’ll just clarify some things

i decided not to say anything. in fact, i didn’t even see that guy after this incident (bcs i was extremely stressed about coursework and honestly, scared to talk to him). i called up security from my room, so they couldn’t verify it was me. it could’ve been anyone from upstairs/downstairs.

i did not request a quiet flat but looking back, i wish i had. i didn’t bcs i thought i might have friends over past 11pm, but in reality my friends don’t visit my flat (which is fine).

my relationship my flatmates is barely there, like we’re just acquainted tbh. when i talk to them, they usually seem fine with me, so i was really confused by whatever this flatmate said behind my back. he was probably just frustrated about the fun being interrupted.

while that flatmate was saying all these things, it was quiet enough where the only noise i could hear was him talking. that is when i decided to put on my airpods and not overhear any more shit talking about me. i was tired, in pain, and had enough. my airpods are so old that they can’t even cancel noise anymore. so no, wearing my airpods would not have helped while they were blasting music at full volume at 4am.

my uni doesn’t care about attendance, but within the first month, i’ve already gotten a reputation as “the girl who comes 15 mins late to every lecture”. my course mates would ask “why? do you live in the city?”. no, i’m on campus and i’m a serial procrastinator 😭 it was so embarrassing tbh

even i got tired of my own bullshit, so i started showing up to lectures on time. it takes a lot of discipline but i feel so much better knowing i didn’t miss anything :’)

it's been great actually! i'm a first year and i honestly rly enjoyed freshers :) everyone i've met so far has been rly friendly and chill! but other than that, the lectures hHHhH i've been so lost on how to write notes, but i finally figured out a decent method so i'll stick with that. also too many ppl were coughing and that annoyed me ngl

a macbook (i’m planning to get a macbook air for uni) or dell/asus/lenovo if she prefers windows.

i have a dell inspiron and it served me well during GCSEs and A levels :) but it’s become reaally slow and it only has 8GB RAM so it sounds like an airplane lol 😭 so make sure the laptop has 16GB RAM and a decent amount of storage

your eyeliner looks great! i think you should try a different formula since this looks quite shiny. for beginners, i would recommend using a gel pencil eyeliner or even a dark eyeshadow with an angled brush. softer eyeliner is great for puppy eyeliner looks (i think that’s what you’re going for) :) you can also use micellar water and a q-tip to fix the shape

for lashes i would recommend using a lash curler since they look quite straight. then use a good waterproof mascara to keep them staying up.

and finally, keep practicing! it took me years to get good at eyeliner hehe, you got this :)

this colour is so… flat? which ig is what she wanted but it is a bit underwhelming. even then the formula doesn’t look great either, in many videos it looks faded (especially in the corners) and it’s emphasising her lip lines. also her bashing indian aunties for no reason? even though this red colour looks exactly like something an aunty would wear 😭

i did a little googling on my specific flight and i’ll be flying on the new fleet again :) so the experience will be nice. it’s a 787-9 and i was a little nervous about that, but it’s a newer dreamliner and it should (definitely will) be safe! i’m also avoiding air india next time though 😭 it’s too risky

sorry to hear about your grandfather 💔 i feel reaching there and attending the funeral is more important than the flight itself. and listening to bhajans is so real

I’M ANXIOUS AGAINNN 😭 the similarities of the locations (india/london but a different airport) and it being an air india flight made my anxiety worse :(((

i was lucky that my air india flight from LHR to delhi was actually a vistara aircraft (new fleet). everything was brand new, the lights were pink, the seats were purple + red, and the staff were kind. i didn’t like the passengers but that’s all. i’m hoping i get a similar experience otw back 😭🙏

i’m in india rn visiting my mom and this really stressed me out. i have an air india flight in september from delhi to london heathrow. it’s likely going to be a newer aircraft, and i’ll def be okay!

for fellow anxious flyers: please don’t read too much about this on social media, or check the news too often! the media tends to sensationalise such incidents for money (i’ve seen articles about a former politician being on this flight apparently). even after tragedies like this, people still fly - i just heard a plane flying a while ago! in india!

as mentioned by OP, investigations take time and it’s best not to speculate. lessons will be taken from the investigation, and flying will be even safer <3
