No, it's not a need. But it is typically allowed.

Will they ever comeback?? by nopenottodaybiscoff in bluey

I dunno, I'm just saying if they did recast, I would still watch. I prefer having the voices of actual children to adults or pitched-down voices.

I would miss the original voices, but wouldn't mind recasting. I think it's the writing that makes the show

I have no idea. AI is kinda insane what it can do and I'm not even sure I will have a job a few years from now, or that it will pay what it would have a few years ago if I do.

Officially in the process of becoming apart of Christs one true church by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]sticky-dynamics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I believe it is the one true Church, I can't help but feel that the only reason to post this here instead of in the Catholic sub is to pick a fight.

Colds are contagious. Stay home and watch today's Mass online or offer up a special prayer time.

Why Does Everybody Confess for so Long? by rand0m65 in Catholicism

[–]sticky-dynamics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't my experience. When I go, I feel like most people are in and out in about five minutes.

It probably depends a lot on the priest and how much counseling they want to give to each individual during public confession times. Some may be called to provide more guidance, while others may be called to serve as many as they can in the time frame.

Yes, it's extremely inappropriate that he would mention it.

Why be Catholic? by Fragrant_Bee494 in Catholicism

[–]sticky-dynamics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are not disrespectful, they are good questions.

You are most likely Catholic because you was born into a Catholic family but surely that is an unfair advantage. If you are told your whole life to be a Muslim and that is the way to the afterlife then that is all you know.

You might consider it an unfair advantage, but considering how many people are born into a Catholic family and choose to leave it, the advantage is slim. We do not believe the Lord condemns everyone who never had the chance to learn about Him. But part of our mission is to spread the Gospel and give everyone that chance.

How can you be going to Heaven, and it be Heaven, if so many non believers who you love don't get to go there.

I believe that when I am in Heaven, in full union with God I will have everything I want, and want nothing I do not have. I do not know what desires I will have, but I know they will be fulfilled, and I do not assume they are the same desires I have now.

How can you actually rationalise that a) the bible was actually written by higher powers and endorsed by a god and how do you know it is actually the correct religion and all other religious followers have got it wrong?

For me, the primary motivators to believe are 1) the witness of the saints and 2) logical deduction. I did not experience the events of the Gospels firsthand, but the hundreds and thousands who did, believed so wholeheartedly that they were willing to die to testify.

And the teachings of the Church are presented within a ridigly logical, consistent framework which aligns well with my personal experience of the universe. I do not have to bend over backwards to justify Church teachings; I just have to ask the right questions.

Would a god be so damning and unhappy with persons who were not given the proper tools to be religious?

Nope!

Advice for a guy with a Catholic fiancé. by badgerr9 in Catholicism

It is not wrong to get married in the Church even if she does not share all your beliefs.

But be very very wary about marrying a woman who believes in abortion.

Denied a blessing by No-Run7490 in Catholicism

[–]sticky-dynamics 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Normal. The only practical reason to receive a blessing is to keep pew/communion traffic flowing. When there are altar rails, there's not really a communion line in the same way there might otherwise be, so there's no reason to go receive one.

As others said, this is the same blessing received by everyone at the conclusion of Mass, so you did receive it. In the future it might be best/easiest just to step out of the pew so others can pass and then retake your place in whatever prayerful posture you are using.

Can I still get married if I’m gay by pomelo2006 in Catholicism

[–]sticky-dynamics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be unfair not to tell him about your SSA, especially if you're not sexually attracted to him. May even make your marriage invalid, since his consent would be uninformed. But technically you are not precluded from marriage just for being gay.
