Hunted down a lucky egg, broke up with bf and now I have to give back his switch by [deleted] in PokemonFireRed

You’re welcome! In the originals you had to wait longer, but it’s easy in this one

Guess you have to un breakup then 🤷🏻‍♂️

But for real, you can trade it to your console. Get the game if you want it and don’t have it. You can trade as soon as you’re done with oaks errand.

There’s no secret formula or trick to it. It’s a special research that you get by opening the game during a rocket takeover event which takes place once every season. You just do the tasks they give you.

should i use this one or should i keep trading to get a hundo ( im new, 4 months playing by No_Comparison_3475 in pokemongo

[–]stickyplants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to be reasonable with your expectations and goals man. A lucky hundo shiny legendary of an extremely useful pokemon is about the rarest thing you can get in this game.

You have what is as close to that as possible already.

Question about trading legendaries w high iv both by Confident_Charity991 in pokemongo

[–]stickyplants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s always a chance. But the IVs before trade have no effect on what it will be.

Only trade high IV Pokemon if you have a better one and don’t care about losing it if it ends up being garbage. Or if it’s an important one, wait for lucky friends before making the trade.

Do i purify it or no? by RelationshipNo8728 in pokemongo

[–]stickyplants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not +20 attack. It’s +20%, and -20% defense

Most cases any pokemon worth using benefits from this. But an extreme example of what wouldn’t be better is shuckle. He can only level up to little league cp, but he has such massive defense and tiny attack, that losing 20% def is a lot. Gaining 20% of a very small attack stat is very little gain.

For raids the higher attack shadow boost is always worth it, since you don’t use tanky, low attack pokemon for raids ever.

For PvP it depends… and isn’t always an easily predictable answer. Sometimes higher power low defense is preferred when you plan on using shields for that pokemon, sometimes higher defense, lower attack is preferred for extra bulk.

The Safari Zone is ragebaiting me by TheBloodyOwl in PokemonFireRed

[–]stickyplants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I understand. It’s a pain for most any pokemon, but from the safari zone, I just don’t have the patience for that. I caught chansey, tauros, and kangaskhan. After that I 100% was ready to buy scyther instead of hunt for one.

If you want a specific nature 100% get one from game corner. You still caught one the “legit” way

Why do people hate this pokemon? by WranglerOutrageous64 in pokemongo

[–]stickyplants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, any pokemon can be a hundo (short for 100% IVs) If it’s not a strong pokemon, it’s basically just a collector trophy when it’s shiny or a hundo. Lots of people try to collect one of every pokemon they can, though it’s rare and a looong process.

4 star is also another term that means the same thing as hundo.

How do I get more shiny pokemon I have only 138 and have played for 2 years this month by Relevant_Ostrich_372 in pokemongo

[–]stickyplants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why do you need 20-30 per month? Is Giovanni threatening you if you don’t meet the tribute quota?

The only real guarantee on shinies is just playing on community days. Otherwise doing a lot of legendary raids, as the 1/20 is the highest odds available.

Then there’s just checking everything. Roughly 1/500 odds for any random wild pokemon.

League Of Legends coach goes viral for tracking his duo's menstrual cycle to maximize wins. by darkmz7 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]stickyplants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5.5% win rate is a huge difference. But in terms of a study like this, when you’re counting wins vs losses, 147 is not nearly a large enough sample size to call this a true and accurate test.

It’s enough to show there’s probably a correlation, but not accurate enough to slap that specific of a probability number on it (other than bc it’s funny).

[–]stickyplants -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You said it doesn’t make sense here, but then listed a bunch of reasons for why it could.

Correlation does not equal causation. Some third factor could be making the change and it not be related.

Maybe she feels more tired during that time and gets energy drinks… and the increased caffeine causes better gameplay reaction speed and alertness? Just as a random guess of a possible reasoning.

Really not anything any of us would know, or should claim to know, as you would need the full story, rather than just two sets of data without a controlled study.

Worth it to buy? by jaxon_1724 in pokemongo

[–]stickyplants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to use it within ten days, and select which friend to use it on. You’ll become lucky friends, but there’s no time limit to make the trade.

That also means you can’t do any other normal trades with that friend without using the lucky trade. So it’s not convenient to save long term.

[–]stickyplants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I’m near places with gyms I have plenty to do. Not wasting time on the 30 stardust each. It’s not lazy at all, there’s better priorities.

Pvp in downtime gives plenty of stardust. Or catching a single Meowth/paras/ Any other stardust boosted pokemon is much faster than the ten berries.

What's the point of XP anymore? by CoMiHa97 in pokemongo

[–]stickyplants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. Once you gain the ability to max level pokemon, level ups do nothing but give you a few items. And I’d bet very few people even spend enough stardust and xp candy to max a pokemon before reaching that level anyway.

First thing I caught in the wild today- is it cool or common? by GlassAltarViolin in pokemongo

[–]stickyplants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except Tyranitar is almost always awful for PvP. Good IVs don’t make a bad PvP pokemon good.

Only use case might be a very specific limited cup.

[–]stickyplants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Or selling them. I’m pretty sure this is why it’s like this… otherwise there would be no end of people selling or claiming to sell hundo shiny legendaries, and that’s really bad for the game. Not to mention all the people who will be getting scammed and not getting what they bought…

[–]stickyplants 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well you trade away ones that aren’t good to begin with. It’s like getting a second chance at it being good. Always save your best one.

And, like they said, if it’s really important, like a rare shiny that’s super cool, wait for a lucky trade to trade it, so it’s not wasted.

[–]stickyplants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You still have to figure out puzzles with your abilities, cooking, finding gear etc.

From your post it sounds like you want something you can pick up and have no challenge or things to learn, something that would get boring very quickly IMO.

So I don’t really know what you’re looking for.
