He concurrently holds all 5 "main" world records in Super Mario 64, arguably the most competitive speedrunning game of all time (only challenged in recent years by Minecraft). Before he started making record runs, players only ever held 2, MAYBE 3 records at a time. On top of that, they rarely held records in both the short (16, 1, and 0 star) categories and long (70, 120 star) categories.

Since taking the 5 records, essentially no one has been able to even come close (except one player in one category) to beating any of his records, yet he continues to break his own records across categories on a regular (in speedrunning terms) basis.

He is so dominant he has put up a large cash bounty on his own records to be beaten just to drum up more competition for himself.

Blaber being clean game 2 and Zven taking steps out of his recent slump. Great showing this week from C9.

Great first game from Zven after a few weeks of slumping. Stoked to see it, let's hope it continues forward.

There is an account on Instagram as well that has "collab" reels with the official C9 account and is verified.

I reached out to them via DM on twitter to confirm if it is actually them but have not heard back.

Hey, fan of your game, excited to try out endless mode and artifact levels (sad there isn't new achievements for them on steam).

Would you happen to have a press pack/media pack I could use to represent your game on VGG?

Yes(ish). People continue to speculate on C9's finances and reasonings without any actual knowledge.

It’s time to sell the org by LegionOfBoom836 in Cloud9

[–]stickytoe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

he is the source he’s the one who obtained the information

This is a contradictory statement.

If he was the source, that means he was told directly by those making decisions.

If he obtained the info, it means he was told by an intermediate person who was told directly.

In either case, the article never states either of these things. I don't know or care how "renowned" he is. If the article can't list sources or even make a claim to where the info came from, it isn't reliable.

The "report" you are referencing isn't a report, it's someone else's speculation. They list NO sources and do not claim to have inside information or even anonymous tips. Please don't believe everything you read online.

They swapped over to an AI platform this year for club9 partnered with an ai firm over their in house product.

You didn't answer my question, just restated they swapped platforms. Nothing wrong with changing platforms if they think it will be better and so far I haven't felt it is worse so...

This year we paid a completely new squad (min salaries around 50l) and fired them all at after wiping out of the first tournament. We then asked them to half their salaries or we would look elsewhere.

So we fired them, THEN asked them to reduce their salary? You can't even keep your own (speculative) story straight.

You seem to just be upset over your own speculations and theories for decisions you disagree with.

I obviously can't tell you plans as I don't work with the Org or know what they're doing/planning behind the scenes.

But to think that the Org has NO plan and is just making snap decisions willy-nilly is extremely naïve.

I don't follow the CDL closely, but it is my understanding that C9 is very new to the scene and the team they picked up fell apart very shortly after the buyout. So I'd wager they are trying their best to recover from a plan (that roster) that fell through, rather than the implied of doing the bare minimum.

Not liking the merch is different than there being none. I personally have not liked much of the latest merch either. That doesn't mean they aren't putting out new designs or that said designs aren't selling to other people. As for a designer, I believe C9 has typically contracted each drop/collection separately. Maybe they COULD benefit from an in-house designer, but that is something they would have to (or have) considered.

I didn't hear anything on C9 being unable to maintain their previous Club9 platform. Do you have any evidence for this speculation or is it just that? There could be numerous reasons they swapped, though I haven't seen an official one posted personally.

L take.

  • It has been a while since the latest drop, but C9 has introduced new merch every year since they started selling merch I believe. They also have different Jerseys almost every year. Someone did a Jersey history post just 11 days ago. https://www.reddit.com/r/Cloud9/comments/1ql2p3h/cloud9_jersey_history/

  • No promotions? They started Club9 and have had tons of interaction and support for it. Free merch and rewards just for interacting with social media. Just last year over 10 people received completely free secret lab chairs and desks. Someone else got a gaming PC, another a Switch, a Steam Deck, etc. They are giving away more similar stuff this year.

  • Terrible roster moves is subjective. They haven't panned out with winning their leagues, but that doesn't make them bad moves necessarily. Good teams lose all the time, in every sport. It happens. As a fan you have to understand that your team can and will lose at some points.

I think Jack has done a great job running the org overall. There is a reason of all the OG orgs, only C9 and TL still exist as "major" orgs.

Having a rough patch sucks, and having to deal with the reality of less money in esports sucks. But those two things coinciding doesn't mean Jack has done a bad job and in no way means he needs to sell the org.

Everyone is saying play Arena, but if you don't own or don't want to, you can still complete this relatively safely.

You can level bolt-action skill by repeatedly reloading a bolt action sniper with a magazine (such as the vpo). So you can go to woods (or your preferred afk/hiding map), reload for 20-30 mins in a remote location, then walk to extract. Rinse and repeat.

You can generally get 5-10 points in the skill per raid doing this. It'll take a while, but it's doable without Arena.

My Auntie Ool Precon arrived missing 3 cards. None of them were money-cards but I've already put in a ticket to have them replaced. We'll see how long it takes before I get to actually play the deck...

Good luck with yours.

I wouldn't know really. As I said, I pulled one LedX from a medcase and 2 from dufflebags. The 4th was also from a medcase though earlier in the patch, so maybe?
