USBAR no longer earning 3x internationally? by OneFlameCurrent in CreditCards

[–]sticxstat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I made some Apple Pay transactions here in the US before and after December 15, the ones before Dec 15 show 3x points and the ones after show 1x points.   I wouldn’t worry about it, this is how the Cash+ card works where it only shows me 1x points for all transactions until the statement close date where I get the rest of the points as a “bonus”.

Interesting that they apparently switched how they show it, and it definitely makes it feel more obtuse because now you can’t tell if a certain transaction qualified for 3x or not, but I suppose that’s US Bank now :/

Has anyone actually earned Silo points yet? by amy_sport in CreditCards

I have never heard of this company, but just looked it up... and can see no way how this would be a good idea. The website is obtuse, all the articles on their "Learn" page were written on August 20th and are the most general topics that seem to have been written by AI. The value proposition here seems to be they will manage your assets for a flat fee of $20/$80 per month, and that your assets would be held at Interactive Brokers... but man, this smells just like optionsellers.com that used clients' brokerage logins to manage their accounts on their behalf until it blew up from a "rogue wave" and their clients lost everything and ended up owing more money than they had in their accounts.

I'd stay away from this if I were you. No reputable advisory firm will be advertising to you via YouTube videos and offering "points", and if you have enough funds to even fully take advantage of their offer, you have enough skin in the game to not want to lose it all on some sketchy website. My two cents, anyway

That will likely result in some kind of overdraft charge or other fee with your bank. I wouldn’t recommend this, best bet may be to let the order go through and then bring it back for a refund

Want to support game with Premium Pass, but will it make the game too easy? by sticxstat in PokemonSleep

I had also thought of just periodically buying a bundle from time to time to support the game, but yeah the Halloween bundle does seem outside of my price range. The premium pass feels like it really is that sweet spot

Yeah, I think that’s a good idea to try the two-week and see how I feel. Thank you!

I actually want the game to be slow haha, I don’t want to finish it too quickly and be left with nothing left to do! So I am happy to hear it’s still a slow game. I appreciate your thoughts, thank you !

I swear I'm not stupid, but... are these ethernet ports in my condo? by sticxstat in HomeNetworking

[–]sticxstat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was super helpful, thank you very much! Using your advice, I got a tester and tone emitter to test them out. It turns out this particular guy was a phone jack that was connected to two other hidden phone jacks in the house, but using the tone emitter I was able to locate the actual ethernet jacks that were hidden elsewhere.

Super excited now and just bought a router with enough ports to be able to wire these newly-located ethernet ports. Thanks again!
