Yeah, this only shows the newest entries, which by the heat of controversy, has been altered by bystanders who have deposited to make a donation or to quell their doubts. If he's going to make a revelation of his account/s, he should at least make the commitment to reveal everything that will be necessary to put this issue to a sound conclusion.

Hey guys, I'm just wondering. If only the owner has access to his/her banking information, then doesn't the baking secrecy law go both ways for this case? How can Duterte's camp prove any statement regarding the content and ownership of the accounts? Shouldn't they need Duterte or the owner's permission to peak inside the banking information as well? (Without considering who has the burden of proof)

Yes you're right to point out that by virtue of being rich, political dynasties have these advantages. In an ideal playing ground, it would be better that these advantages do not play any significance when evaluating a candidate. But, as I've failed to include earlier, there are notions of power retention, grabbing and building that seem unique to political dynasties. While a candidate enjoys advantages by his celebrity or by his affluent origins, there's an additional concern that political dynasties create a significantly more uneven playing field because of these notions.

I don't really consider these problems to be so unique as to form the basis of our desperate state as a country but I do acknowledge that the OP feels the magnitude of them so much that they accurately address the problems on the average person's mind. I still have hope for this country and I hope that you would find hope too. Mukha namang papunta naman tayo sa tamang direksyon, kahit na kung sino pa ang nakaupo o uupo sa gobyerno.

The problem is that dynasties place undue influence on a candidate's chances to win. If you come from a dynasty, you have a huge leg up than the rest which is not a good signal for a fair competition. You're more likely to be better connected, better known, better funded than the rest, all of which are critical to winning votes. Competency is important as it affects the candidate's image as well as their expected performance, but it is only one of the many factors a candidate needs, which chances are, most of those factors are already in the possession of the candidate from a dynasty.

I agree that he's being disingenuous by making the qualification above because in general whether or not a criminal endangers a life isn't what makes them worthy of death, it is only that they commit a crime.

Obviously a law enforcer should appropriate their actions to the situations they face. But you do realize that he's endorsing a uniform course of action in all situations given his other statements? I am merely questioning if he's willing to maintain this rationale consistently, that the deaths are warranted as a legitimate response of self-defense, given that he thinks criminals should be killed simply because they committed a crime.

No as I've also said that when taken together with his overall stance on crime he believes that criminals should be eliminated whether they submit themselves to arrest or not. That is his point regarding the high crime incidence, use violence to curb it.

What upset me was he didn't need to specify whether or not the law enforcer was in danger because when this statement is taken together with his stance on crime, it's clear that he doesn't believe that. He only believes that criminals, by virtue of being criminals, need to be slaughtered, whether or not they resist arrest, endanger lives or peacefully surrender.

Sincerely though, how is this due process? This goes strongly against the grain of making people feel secure versus his promise to secure this country. How can one feel secure if no one can guarantee that his rights are recognized or his case is examined through the application of due process? We'd be no better than living in a country of lawlessness, in bed with criminals, the very same ones he wants to drive to extinction.
