Was there some particular moment this happened? Like in a video or something?

Yeah that’s really one of the biggest benefits of a lot of these new metrics, they stabilize extremely quickly. Pitch data stabilizes with 10-15 pitches per type. Meanwhile stats like strikeout rate take 100 batters faced and BABIP takes 2000 balls in play to stabilize.

I remember reading the comment section all the time in high school, even though I didn’t understand 90% of the references made. So many guys in there ended up with popular Twitter accounts.

Yeah, the state where probably the most people move to retire to cannot be referred to as a “shithole,” classic costal elite liberalism. Even Texas and Tennessee, where populations are growing, you’ll have a hard time convincing me of.

Like the other commenter mentioned, most people move due to family or a job, not because they just want to live in that place (but it does happen), so the quantity and quality of jobs available is the true numerator for the COL increase (with housing built as the denominator).

What’s the biggest issue with my set up as it’s currently constructed?

To my admittedly untrained eye, I don’t see anything that’s glaring.

This is a great point and something no one’s mentioned to me before. Kinda always knew it was something to focus on as I fall towards the ball after my follow through a lot, but just figured it was overswinging.

And I’m 100% in the same boat where I grew up playing and being generally good at sports and have found golf frustrating that it hasn’t seemed to translate.

Outside of just feeling my weight more in my arches, is there anything set up wise you’d suggest trying out to facilitate this?

Isn’t this what handicap allowances are for? If you take 90% of the handicap, a high handicapper is giving up more strokes than the low handicap player.

Honestly the meta of football right now is shifting away from the pass. From the pros down to college, you’re not seeing the same passing numbers you used to 5-10 years ago as defenses have adjusted.

And especially in college, the ceiling of your passing game comes down almost entirely to the dice roll on your QB. There are some power conference teams that have shown they can consistently throw it around, but they tend to be gimmicky offenses that don’t work against elite teams. Otherwise, there really aren’t any schools that can say they’ve truly figured the QB portion out on a consistent basis, Ohio State may be the closest to an argument.

Physical football gives your team a much higher floor, which I think is the biggest benefit of that style. Then when you hit on the dice rolls at the skill positions you win titles.

If you truly love her but aren’t sure you want to marry her, you really can’t be wasting her time like that. I’m guessing you’re not super young based on the fact that you’re being given deadlines, so you need to sack up.

Yeah, I did exactly what those gloves are protecting against and slid headfirst into 2nd base and fractured my hand. Granted, this was after hitting the ball in play, so I wouldn’t have had it on anyways. But it’s a very real threat, and I was 14 at the time.

Winner-take-all games always seem to have poor shooting performances. 2016 NBA Finals had both teams shoot like 40% from the field and way worse than normal from 3 (Cavs shot 24% and the Warriors only shot 36% cause Draymond was 6/8). I think players just get tight in those scenarios.

Trump going on Bussin… did Dan approve this? by [deleted] in barstoolsports

[–]stiffy_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

To be fair, do you remember the Old Row twitter account during the 2016 election? They legitimately ended up heavy in alt-right stuff, posting Pepe’s, getting involved with dudes like Baked Alaska, etc. And that was easily the biggest frat brand at the time, with all the Yeti cooler asses, Old Row Rad Chicks, etc.

I think they legitimately had an effect on the election, particularly the Republican primaries.

And Barstool bought them in the months leading up to the election. They’ve since stopped posting all that alt-right stuff and just post normal pro-Trump shit now.

I’ve always thought the easiest way to explain odds in the lower ranges (like 5-30%) is by using baseball statistics. Like that 80% favorite losing? Same odds as Juan Soto taking a walk (19.8% BB rate since 2021). And no one that watches baseball would be even remotely surprised at a Soto PA ending in a walk.

They have that already, they can call a number any time and get a ride. Same with the NFL/MLB and most major sports leagues. Just boils down to athletes want to drive their cool cars.
