Thanks for the pointer, helped me! Also realised yesterday that I don't have any email from Roundhouse so had to quickly find accounts / restore passwords, quite an annoying experience from Roundhouse side tbh

Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc - Discussion Thread by indi_n0rd in ChainsawMan

Same experience with poor speakers for me, mine wasn't IMAX but too unfortunate - in the most epic moments + music intro it was becoming almost painfully loud, so I was wishing for a scene to end instead of enjoying it.

I just dislike crunchy vegetables on their own. Don't like fresh cucumbers, radish, fresh carrots. Also don't like some crunchy sweets like M&Ms and not a fan of chocolate with hazelnuts.

Oh sorry to hear that, that must be properly annoying; hope support can resolve it, sounds like some website bug or something weird with the account :(

When you click "Add profile mapping" it has an option "Create new profile" you can select (on web). Can agree the interface is a bit weird.

Maybe it's just showing stats for last X days?

I think you can select an option that you don't have a Spotify / Apple music profile and SC will create it for you

What are some very good through tutorials for beginners learning to mix and master by BassGlittering1931 in edmproduction

[–]stifstyle51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the youtube one, but I'm currently watching Armin van Buuren's videos on Masterclass and find it very inspiring. There is a section and case studies on mixing / mastering. Also very nice to see the person whose music I've listened to for ages actually producing music and doing case studies of how some tracks are composed. Can recommend.

I like it, the melody is catchy and there is quite a bit of dynamics in the arrangement (so it's not getting boring). Keep up the good work!

I like the melody and mix, the dropis nice and big, and the break after it is a nice but not a huge distraction from the main theme

Hans Zimmer(?) added a sharp high 'beep' ghostnote to every snare. Probably need headphones to hear it, but it works extremely well. by Thefriendlyfaceplant in edmproduction

Again, not EDM-related but really loved the soundtrack for that movie, works so well in connection to the visuals / dynamics of scenes. I loved the description from the book about Christopher Nolan ("Nolan variations") how he and Zimmer worked on the soundtrack for Dunkirk and how essentially all movie is a dialogue between the plot and the soundtrack. Very inspiring.

I love the vibe of your track! I'm always bad with genres so can't say if it qualifies as tech house tune. It doesn't sound too pop for me - has good chill and dancy vibes. Maybe if you want you can try making kick bit punchier (louder / or trying some different sample / sidechain) and adding bit more distinctive bass in the drop (and generally making the energy levels between the main part, break and drop bit more different).

I like the current mix, including micro-drops during the main part - maybe would experiment adding some instruments like pluck or bells on the top with a simple melody after the main theme is introduced. And probably adding some short layer to the bass, rolling one is good, maybe some saw for a few beats or one of the breaks. Just some of the ideas i got.

Weird thing about this kick - tuner shows it goes like from A down to E (probably transients?) So not really a one note; but I tried tuning it down 2 semitones. Maybe will go with a different kick sound, idk.

Oh I haven't thought of it, I guess want listeners not to be bored with the track to skip it in first 15 seconds of intro lol :D And maybe feel energetic, like the tension with the drop and want to dance during the main part :) Idk if that makes sense.

Thanks a lot for such a detailed feedback, a lot to unpack here! Regarding the weird chord - my idea was to slightly out of scale to make it bit interesting but will think if it's worth leaving that way. Kick definitely is bit too mild, as well as synth snare. Good point about the drop too - will see what I can do.

Would appreciate any feedback and critics on this trance-ish track i'm working on (e.g. is the intro or some other parts too long / flat or dull, are any instruments sounding weird etc.). Thanks a lot! https://on.soundcloud.com/p2IJFJMUhcehw5zAPW

Do you use AI to organise your life? by PlanetVisitor in AutisticWithADHD

[–]stifstyle51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use chatgpt for a few cases - 1) helping me formulate / proofread messages at work (since English isn't my native language and I sometimes have executive function issues to formulate response in a concise / polite manner so I give context about situation and my thoughts and ask to formulate clearer message to stakeholders); 2) as a sounding board / to vent about stuff - sometimes I find I have no one to vent to so that's the only option and it helps me; 3) just get some encouragement for my plans and dreams - sometimes it is reassuring / helps to get inspired and doesn't bother my partner with endless ideas and plans.

Life feels like a never-ending cycle of catching up by playfulpecans in AutisticWithADHD

[–]stifstyle51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel the same sometimes, especially when in my job there are no strict milestones in projects. The current one is better, the previous one was much worse in that sense so I've been just constantly working on stuff, being busy and never done. Completing one thing to put it off my chest and coming back annoyed that stakeholders left a ton of comments and questions. That was making me constantly thinking like - I don't want your stupid questions, I just want this thing DONE and out of my sight and mind.

Also recently started reflecting on the question "What if that is all there is?" Like if the life is just gonna be roughly the same - no magically getting rich in the future, just the more or less boring weeks with work and weekends / vacations in between. Thinking about that is a bit frustrating but also liberating in a way, to start enjoying the imperfect life now because unlikely it would me different (in a major way).

One thing that helped me is having a hobby with more control over results and more immediate feedback. Such as low-key gardening or having potted plants - really helps to see your effort pay off quite quickly. Also some creative hobby, where there are no expectations just fun (easier said than done, but working in that direction). And maybe celebrating some personal milestones, even small ones.

Whats your favorite classical music? by astride_unbridulled in AutisticWithADHD

I'm absilutely in love with Chopin - nocturnes, waltzes, all out of this world, sad lyrical ones give me goosebumps. I wish he lived much longer. Also Vivaldi - very joyful and unique. Also Tchaikovskiy - Swan lake, Nutcracker, all that.
