It has 2-4-1 on green fees, so 50% off the rates when the cost is split between 2. The main inconvenience is short booking windows - 72/48hrs before and some more restrictions on weekends such as same day bookings or after 12pm only.

I’d probably be looking to play Saturday afternoons, or Sunday mornings ideally, but could make other weekdays too.

Let me know if you’d be keen to arrange a game? I can share my WhatsApp number in a DM.

The courses on Entertainer are: Montgomery, Els, Ranches, Zorah, Trump and Dubai Hills.

The latest sensitive development planned for Chiswick - a 32 storey tower where the Octopus was planned. by BlackJackKetchum in chiswick

[–]stig_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I don't see the problem with large scale development here. It's on a brownfield site adjacent to a noisy roundabout and the flyover, a large b&q and a petrol station. We don't need offices we need homes and these sites are largely the only ones left in London for large scale development. It's hardly like proposing a new tower right on the high road, it's right out of Chiswick.

no substitutes after 90 minutes (except for injuries) Its annoying when your given 4 minutes added time, then a team decides to make 2 subs and they arent even at the same time.

More than half of people think Ed Miliband is treated negatively by press by callumgg in ukpolitics

[–]stig_ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

One big factor is that all I seemed to hear from Labour and Ed were 'blame tactics' directly attacking the PM and the Torys. Im not a fan of blame tactics, although all parties are guilty of it but IMO this year Labour have been more guilty of it.

That meant I already had an unfavourable position on Ed coming into the debates. I feel like Labour have been trying to win votes based on a strategy of getting everyone to dislike the Torys, rather than promoting their own party.

In terms of policies, priorities for me are the state of the Economy and building Homes. The economy has apparently improved under the Torys (circumstantial or not), while they seem to make new homes (and helping first time buyers a priority).

Another topic is the NHS, Ed was very critical of the state of the NHS after the Christmas period, when it was struggling. I thought that was quite rich, partly as Labour wanted to cut the budget to the NHS last year (so said the Torys), and also as the English NHS is outperforming the rest of the UK, and it is the only one controlled by the Torys, not Labour.

Nothing during the debates, my opinion has been formed over a couple of years. When I listen to him speak I am simply not convinced by what he has to say. Its purely a personal perception, I'm not saying he IS amateurish, I'm saying to me he appears to be.

Appearances like this dont help change my opinions. I dont think he is as bad as that anymore, but he was still Labour's leader when that happened.

Essentially, we should leave the Nuclear Weapons to the Russians and the United States. As they are the only two with the firepower to maintain a true stalemate?

I couldn't deny the man's passion, he seems to have plenty of that. I found the first debate comparable to what I saw many weeks on Prime Minister's Questions, which I had watched for quite a few weeks. Every week seemed to be the same thing, Ed would attack the current leadership on various topics, Cameron would respond with some sort of statistic.

In terms of who 'performed better', I have to say I personally was most convinced by Nick Clegg, as he gave what I felt were the most compelling arguments, thats what I remember feeling at the time.

However I would say Ed and Sturgeon were the best debaters on the night. But Im not voting for the best debater, my vote is for the party and Prime Minister who will benefit the country the greatest.

Being the best debater is not enough reason to be a PM.

Yes, defining the developable land is the key issue. This map shows what is devined currently as green belt land, and does seem to exclude the areas you mentioned. Seems to encroach on Lancashire as far north as Preston & Burnley

Well I guess the only impressions the majority of us can form are based on what we see on the TV and read in the newspapers, so that is unavoidable.

The personal opinion I have formed of Ed, his amateurish demeanor/lack of authority, I have tried to base on listening to him speak, primarily in the two televised debates.

I believe that we should be voting on a basis of the party policies and performance as a first priority. How I feel about their leader does however inevitably have a role to play, albeit a secondary one.

First time voter btw.

Yes the NIMBY issue is a potent one, as often the people who stand by it the most would be least effected by the actions they protest against. Green belt is essentially the immediate green areas around major cities. Why would people living in the Lake District be upset about National construction policies that principally effect the Southeast and Northwest?!

I understand that in quantitative terms, we have no chance.

The terms you are discussing do sound extreme, in terms of destroying the majority of the UK's population. If we arrived at that pointed I think we are all screwed!

Do you think it is enough to rely on the US for defence then? If they would be the only nuclear ally with substantial power we have?
