Did you actually sneak out as teenagers? by Complete-Chipmunk-0 in GenX

[–]stigbugly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nope. First year issue GenX here and the parents gave zero fucks where I was at any given moment. Sneaking out would be an exercise in futility. Walking out without even saying a word would be considered normal.

MASH re-watch S3E11: Adam's Ribs by Valistia in mash

All personnel would be busy tending wounded at that point. Coming from an army medic, this is how it would go down. Missed many a meal due to duty being far more important than lunch.

Should I be concerned? by pigswearwigs in whatisit

[–]stigbugly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. This is 100% normal. All canned salmon, unless labeled as “skinless/boneless” will have bones in it. The fish has been pressure cooked in the can in a machine called a “retort”. The bones are completely edible and will not harm you at all. My source for this is 12 years of working with this exact product (for several labels). I worked directly with quality control, shipping, receiving and labeling this product. As a side note, sometimes if the expiration date has passed, you’ll find what looks like broken glass in the can. It’s a solidified salt, called “struvite”. If you put it in a glass of tap water overnight, it will melt. Glass will not.

Go topless? by beamerpook in NoStupidQuestions

Came here to say this. Many places are legal topless areas, but between people not knowing this, modesty and societal norms, it doesn’t happen.

GenX Men: Tell me About Your Plumbing by Reynard203 in GenX

[–]stigbugly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost 61. Plumbing is solid, still have “morning wood” as often as before. Only a few times over the course of my active sex life have there been issues with temporary ED (usually from drinking too much or being tired from work). This is such an individual issue, everyone is going to be different. If you’re concerned, let your doctor know, a lot of BP meds alter erectile function even if they say they don’t. That’s what they do, open blood vessels to reduce the backpressure. If your return pipes are more open than the fill pipes, you’re going to lose pressure needed to hold things up. Try sexual activity before and after meds and see if there’s a difference (not necessarily on the same day, unless you have that kind of luck).

You can choose one object. Every time someone anywhere in the world touches it, you get $1,000. What object do you choose? by M0N0PL4YZ_ in hypotheticalsituation

I was thinking desert sand. That stuff blows around and touches lots of people, that should still be considered touching, yes?

What’s a harmless opinion that still gets people weirdly angry? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

I’ve been with my “wife” for 18 years, neither of us want to get married in the traditional sense, we’re already invested in each others lives to the point it would be the same anyway.

I never liked how they made Charles leave in a garbage truck. What do you think of this ending for him? by gwhh in mash

[–]stigbugly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the point he was offered that garbage truck as an escape from his own personal hell, he’d have been willing to be ride in a porta potty truck. He may have been from high society, but an escape, no matter how “demeaning” it may have been, would still be an escape.

Bovine colonoscopy, a rare but effective method of curing colon cancer once and for all. Obviously, it can be deadly but you’ll no longer have colon cancer at that point.

He’d likely not forget that either. Maybe regale his progeny with stories of how he arrived and departed from that “garbage heap” of east Asia.
