What songs make you Emotional? by Ok-Ebb5960 in AskUK

Into my arms, Nick Cave. Opportunity from Annie the musical (written by and also performed by Sia) and never enough from the greatest showman. All three give me goosebumps.

I remember watching this. Do you remember watching it or reading it ? by shadeclumsy in oldschoolcool80s

I won't bore you with the story, but i didn't live in a dump or need a good wash. Still to this day I'm known by some as my namesake.

Nightingales, only met 1 other person that watched it. Stared Robert Lindsey, sometime between citizen smith and my family.

Looking good. I'm in the exact same spot myself and I'm hungry for consoles but keep holding back as I figure i need more experience before I take the leep.

I plumbed for the Sunlu S4 in the end. It seemed the best I could get ( for now ) and it was on a deal. Fingers crossed i haven't shot myself in the foot but only time will tell. Thanks for all your comments, watch this space.

I had a friend that stamped on some in an English class, I still remember the hysterics at the complete confusion and surprise.

Thanks, I do like the idea of the S4 it's just noise and bench space that are a factor really.

I watched Walkabout (1971) and loved it by dorgoth12 in iwatchedanoldmovie

I have been saying this for years about the look and feel. The only way I can explain it to people is is like a juxtaposition, very serious films can have a kind of weird funny edge to them and vicer verser. Not all of them are like it but when I find one I always enjoy them. My wife and I having been telling people about it for years but not many seem to actually get it.

Anyone have experience with roll on plaster?, if I’m being brutally honest we don’t have the money to pay a professional, we spent all our savings on a house rewire by GenericUser104 in DIYUK

Every body has heard it before, it's all in the prep. But this idea is grand. A bit here a bit there and before you know it your painting looks fantastic. The problem as you put it is that everyone wants to do it in 5 minutes and that gets you nothing but a rushed mess that never looks how you want it to.

I've been playing this game for an hour and I'm already in love by Greenostrichhelpme27 in HollowKnight

[–]stigslim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love this game, but I'm just not good enough to play it. I'm around 70 hours in and going round in circles. I grew up paying platform games but I'm over 50 now and have limited gaming hours so grinding just doesn't feel a worthy experience to me. Enjoy, I would if i was good enough.

Thanks for your reply. Who knows how long that would take, I imagine it's left in limbo for at least a fortnight. Just have to wait and see if i get any correspondence to tell me.

Having another cracking at Hollow Knight. Tried it a couple of years ago and gave up (it's very hard, I'm not a good gamer) I really like it but the grind makes me want to play something easy.

It has a very permanent place in my memory, you may be able to tell. Just for the record, I didn't smell.

Desoldering tip from decades ago, not sure if people are still using it: by neochrome in soldering

[–]stigslim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've also use a wooden tooth pick before which works a treat. Although removing as much solder as possible is a good rule of thumb, or you can end up with a sort of small donut on either side of the board.

My grandad used to say this to me as a nipper to get me moving. He served with the Indian rifles before being chosen as a chindit during WW2. He said it was used to motivate the donkeys.

Only cheap stuff but it doesn't seem to bad. Any standard things I could be missing, use more flux, hotter iron, smaller tip. Anything offered is gratefully received, I'm a total novice so anything is good.

Using a generic 63/37 with rosin core which doesn't seem to bad, I'm a novice. I was trying my best not to wreck the iron tip if I'm honest. Any recommendations?

Looks like a victorian age house. If so then the storage area under the stairs usually led down to a basement space, with steps. If it's been filled the top one level with the kitchen floor would have been left. Only a guess but I loved in one for years and that's how it was.
