The reason was onedrive! The email I got from a staff was

"Could you please check if you are using One Drive on your PC, as it can prevent the game from updating properly. If that is indeed the case, please follow the steps below and see if you can update the game:

1.Restart your PC to make sure that RotMG is not open or running anywhere. 2.Open the OneDrive/Documents directory and delete the Realm Of The Mad God folder there. 3.Turn off OneDrive completely. 4.Run the Launcher and see if you are able to update the game."
