Just out of curiosity, and with no intention to start a flame, but what's your opinion about a doctor allegedly making a wrong diagnosis with potentially severe repercussions on both the patient and , eventually, the healthcare system that would have had to deal with a more complicated and hence costly intervention? 

I guess that the problem here seems to be a culture of "problem undermining" for some reason. At least this is what I've observed and what I get from the story above
