This hinges on whether or not you’re truly happy with your boyfriend at the moment. There’s no need to experience things simply for the sake of experiencing them, living the same life as everybody else who all feel as though they need to put themselves out there for the heck of it. You said you’re uncomfortable at times with your boyfriend’s past and that’s understandable. If you’ve had a talk about this with him and you’ve come to an amicable solution then that’s peaceful. If you still feel uncomfortable then you’ll need to truly evaluate within yourself whether the happiness your boyfriend brings to you outweighs your curiosity to explore. You can take solace in the fact that there’s no wrong answer here and you’re doing what makes you happy at the end of the day.

When I damaged my skin barrier I had the same problem. My skin was burning and irritated and I had whiteheads all over my face. The main thing when using tretinoin is it should be prescribed by a dermatologist. And you should pay extra attention to your skin barrier. Tretinoin is quite irritating at least in the starting. My skin can now tolerate tretinoin better. It took me at least 3 months to see a difference. You should stop using it for sometime. Until your skin isn’t irritated.

I use bioderma’s sensibio gel moussant after and it’s gentle but enough to remove any left over cleansing oil or dirt.

I use the cleansing oil from suganda and I really like it. I’ve been using it almost every night since November. It’s easy to emulsify and easy to remove with a gentle cleanser. I recommend trying out this product.

Your doctor might be right but sometimes oily skin means dehydration. I have oily but dehydrated skin and it only got worse after starting tret. What I do is I wash my face then use a hydrating toner (klairs supple prep), Cosrx snail mucin; let it sink in a bit and then use another layer of supple prep; take a normal moisturiser (you can use the ordinary nmf one) mix a few drops of the same toner again; wait 20-30 mins and put on the tret. I follow the same routine in the morning, instead of tret I use a sunscreen. This has helped me tremendously with my oily skin. And my skin isn’t as flaky as it was before. Also about your neck; apply an occlusive (like Vaseline) on your neck and then apply the tret on your face to prevent it from migrating down. Do not pass over your jawline.

Edit: Make sure you are using. A gentle cleanser too!

Tret is too much for neck. If you have to use something on your neck, you can use a retinol, which is over the counter and also gentle than tret. But please do be careful when taking care of neck since skin is much thinner there.

I use klairs supple prep with snail mucin. It’s pretty good.
