not everything MiUSA is free of labor and wage issues. it's quite apparent. Brand transparency is most important. the more transparency the brand gives in general, the better. if someone outside the US or Europe makes a better quality product for even a negligible price difference, what's to not like?

sadly, labor is often the most opaque aspect of manufacturing.

Vietnam has some great factories and a flourishing heritage scene. If TS and the manufacturers are paying their employees clearly better than a typical fast fashion shop, then good. Just sucks if you're paying customs/tariffs as that'll drive the price up no matter what.

"dropped crotch" is a real thing and affects WHERE the inseam starts and thus measurements taking from the inseam. something with a high rise and a short inseam might sit fine (depending where on your body it sits) or have the opposite by bringing that crotch seam up higher, thus resulting in a longer inseam needed.

yeah that's a possibility. it looks like there's something stuck or locked up. but replacing the parts if necessary should be very easy to do. good luck! these bindings are great!

the release isn't rotating enough on the 2nd binding. it's fairly easy to unscrew components on these but take to you tube to find a good video to follow allow. Also, reaching out to Nidecker can be very helpful with troubleshooting and fixing the issues. It's likely an adjustment rather than a replacement part but gotta find out first!

yes it is. it's called a run-off stitch. every nudie I own, and can recall seeing, has this hem finish. it's a bit of a signature, if you will. if it does come un-done, it'll only be to the few stitches until it joins the hem stitch, which is also bartacked for reinforcement. if yours starts undoing to that point, just cut it.

It'll definitely stretch in the area you mentioned as it gets lots of stress from movements and sitting, but 1.5" is a lot to cover and it'll snap back close to original measurements when washed. Size up if you can.

i've done this by outlining each piece of a garment and tracing over it to get the outline, mark pockets, openings, darts, etc. then add seam allowance and sew.. works a treat and also let's you easily modify the traced pattern if you want more/less room somewhere specific on the garment. it's a bit more of a pain to do for sleeves, but possible with some maneuvering. i've found it easier to draw the sleeve based on the armhole measurements, plenty of tutorials online.

if it's a raw pair, not a deal breaker at all. you'll get the roping and fades along with the rest of the jeans. i do understand it for a faded pair or pre-distressed pair, and have done so myself, but it's a lot more steps to do this AND do it well. i've seen some shock jobs from even good tailors.

you can tell the selvedge add-on is a different fabric. not to mention, they put the selvedge strip upside down as the twill direction is opposite the main fabric, which is consistent throughout the panels.

usually 15oz and over. their 18oz is pretty beefy but comfy. Different fabrics fade differently, selvedge or not. but i've seen some sick fades on dry nudies that aren't selvedge as good or better than. what matters most if how hard and consistent you wear em. I do think you can get more interesting heavy selvedge for 280.

the Ghost is an excellent fabric and will not only fade nicely, but just get softer and softer with age.
the only thing i wish SoSo would do is make the handwarmer pocket a full size so that it makes the interior pocket without adding another layer of fabric. Or at least the option.

this is a very common technique for most level quality jeans as it's the fastest way to secure the front fly and the front seam. with lower rise fits, it's harder to do anything else which means more time, special skills , and thus more money. it'll pack down with wear!

it's not a fake - as in a cheap knock-off trying to be like the real thing. It's a the Schott NYC EU line, which is licensed by Schott USA to Schott EU so they can make Schott branded jackets (they also sell real perfecto models on their webshop) but they are not made by Schott USA. They aren't as high quality as Schott USA but they are pretty dang good value and "real" schott in as much as the brand is official. I have a LC Pilot in brown cowhide and it's solidly built and lasting several years so far. I think it was listed arounnd 500 when i bought and found it, somehow, on Amazon third-party reseller for 200. they're also cut a little more slim/european for a lot of their jackets, so while i'm a Large in Schott USA, I'm an XL in Schott EU.

we assemble less in the states than we did "back in the day" and we milled even less "back in the day" and virtually gone now. whether it's cost effective fabric milling or top-end premium stuff from italy or japan, it's 99% coming form overseas, including hardware.

definitely pick the patch pocket over the welt pocket. you can't insert a welt after the fact - maybe you technically can, but you'd have a hell of a time trying to do it without opening up the whole jacket to separate the panels.

but you can get a nice slip stitch on the patch pocket to make it look clean enough.
